Used 1940 Oldsmobile 60 for sale in Allentown, PA

This 1940 Oldsmobile Convertible Coupe - Series 60 is one of just 1,347 built in 1940. It has been restored to showroom condition and remains magnificent. Finished in a light yellow (official brochure color) with red leather upholstery and a black cloth top with glass rear window it is impressively equipped including fender skirts, guide fog lights, wide whitewall tires, hubcaps, trim rings, bumper guards, an exhaust pipe turndown, electric clock, and functional De Luxe electric tuning radio. Completing the list of accessories, the car shows an exceedingly rare 1940 cooling fan installed in the column and a dash heater with adjustable doors. The column shift is balanced by an unusual Oldsmobile turn signal control on the left side of the steering column. The dashboard and windowsills are attractively walnut grained. This is a very unusual and rare automobile restored to high standards and it shows vividly on the inside, outside and under the hood.

By 1940 standards, the Oldsmobile was a respectably powerful car. They were powered by a 230-cu.in., L-head six with 95hp, and single down-draft carburetor.

Bought by the last owner in 1984 from the believed original owner, Mr. Dick Stocktons, this automobile was restored by Don Spieldenner from Freemont, Ohio and it was repainted in 2005. Shortly after the restoration, this Oldsmobile earned its AACA Senior Award in a 1985 national competition. Despite the time elapsed since its restoration, it remains one of the most outstanding examples of the 1940 Oldsmobile we have encountered. Now gently mellowed, this superb Olds is ready for enjoyment on tours or for continued success on the show field. However, its next owner chooses to use it, we are sure that it will bring many more years of delightful enjoyment.
