Used 1973 Mercedes 450SL convertible for sale in Granger , IN

I purchased the car in Sep of 1993. It was my daily driver at first, speedometer broke so add 12,000 miles then had speedometer rebuilt. I don't remember exactly when things were done but approx the order. The floor pans were rusted out so I had both sides replaced. The engine began to smoke bad so I had the motor rebuilt so still the original motor. It had to be bored 3 over. After that I had the transmission rebuilt just because it was torn apart. New brakes and other suspension parts. This was in the later 1990's. I then recovered the seats and door panels in late 1990's. It has a soft leather like fabric designed for boats. I did a soso job. The convertible top replaced. It was garage kept. In June 2019 had a tune up with new plugs, valve cover gasket replaced and timing chain adjusted. It has sat the last year since tune up but started right up this spring easily. There is a bit of a tapping noise in rear end under certain driving conditions. It was in a wreck before I purchased it, passenger front. Did not know it when I purchased. The only rust is in the pictures. The hard top was only on the car in the beginning and has sat around all the years. I don't think it fits quite properly but that was long ago. Car was originally a brownish color painted red before I purchased hence the brown trim. Needs repainting has spider lines but looks ok. Just a fun summer driving car.
