if you are one of the people who has responded before for whom I have been out of town and unavailable to show you the car my housemate is now helping me with that task and is available to show the car almost any day.
Hello,
This car was granny owned & driven in Graham Washington. (paperwork for history of ownership, and repairs mentioned all available)

which only sees a couple inches of snow a year and is far enough from the ocean not to be affected by it.
The elder lady whose car this has been is a family friend and is no longer able to drive.
I am selling it on her behalf & I didn't drive it all the way to Montana because I was concerned in any way about its reliability .
The timing belt was done and transmission rebuilt at 151,000 Miles and the car has just under a hundred and eighty thousand miles now.( being driven regularly and going up)
It's had ABS sensor related warning light issues, ... that come on and off intermittently for years because of the sensor being broken. I have many pictures from very recent miles in which they are all off, or some on, in case they are on when you come to see the car.
Everything on the car works great AC, sunroof, adjustable mirrors, power everything, stereo .... ETC.
The digital screen in the rearview mirror is fried though๐Ÿ˜ฑ , and there's a blemish on the right front corner panel๐Ÿง which I've provided a picture of.

Doesn't have any leaks , the steering wheel makes a subtle abrasion like noise at slow speeds and tight turning and it has been that way a looong time , outside of those conditions the noise is non-existent and the noise is definitely coming from the steering wheel itself and not at all to do with the steering column or steering mechanisms.
Also the front suspension creaks a little bit under really rough conditions but it is nearly 20 years old after all, and looking and running very clean for its age.

It's being sold here because of the problems with the check engine light & warning lights which come on because of the ABS sensor The brakes work great but the sensor has been determined long ago not to be worth fixing.
Out on the coast (Cali/OR./WA.) you cannot register your car without passing emissions test and you cannot have the car tested while the engine light is on. I brought it here to Montana to sell with a Clean title, which being from Washington MEANS THAT IT DOES NOT REQUIRE BEING NOTARIZED.

like others, ... who have recently wasted hours of my time only to tell me that they can't move forward because of their fears and insecurities that the title which has absolutely no place on it for notarization, ....is not notarized,๐Ÿ˜• .... as is the standard they are accustomed to in Montana for Montana titled vehicles.
WHICH IS NOT THE CASE IN MANY, IF NOT MOST STATES TO RELEASE OWNERSHIP OF IT THERE, OR TAKEN ELSEWHERE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN OTHER STATES.

A CASE OF THE FAMILY STATION WAGON BECOMING THE FAMILY STATION ROCKET๐Ÿš€

With the appearance of every new van, sport-ute, pickup truck, or mongrelized mutation of these vehicles, we are assured that the target buyers are youthful, sexy, and cool and enjoy "active lifestyles." As if many minivan buyers actually hauled 200-foot coils of bungee-jumping cord rather than grocery bags filled with Wheaties and Pampers. And besides, why would a wring-every-drop-of-excitement-out-of-life type want to drive a sluggish, slow beast of burden on the way to the next thrill sport?

For anyone seeking a more balanced blend of payload capacity and driving excitement, Volvo offers its redesigned V70 wagon. In the T5 form tested here -- the T is for "turbo" -- the V70 can vault from a standstill to 100 mph in 18.8 seconds, come to a dead stop from 70 mph in a mere 167 feet, and corner at 0.80 g to help you challenge the mountain roads leading to your next rock-climbing expedition.

At the same time, the V70 will easily accept four adults and some 38 cubic feet of luggage. And to protect you in accidents, it comes with front, side, and head airbags; seatbelt pretensioners; anti-whiplash front seats; anti-lock brakes; and a stability-control system.

These features and capabilities come in a package that, at 185.4 inches in length, is 0.8 inch shorter than the previous V70. That makes it anywhere from about four to seven inches shorter than its big-buck European competitors and more than a foot shorter than a Ford Taurus wagon, hardly a behemoth.

This new version of the classic Volvo wagon is built on the modern P2 platform that Volvo introduced on the '99 S80 top-of-the-line sedan. As a result, the new V70 may be slightly shorter than the 2000 model, but it packs nearly four more inches of wheelbase, an inch-wider front track and a three-inch-wider rear track, and about two more inches of width and height. No wonder most of its interior dimensions are more generous than its predecessor's. This is particularly impressive since the skin of the new V70 is far more voluptuous than its boxy predecessor's.

Slide behind the V70's steering wheel, and you'll find not only plenty of room but also a superb seat that provides an exquisite blend of softness and support. Moreover, the driving position benefits from a steering wheel adjustable for both angle and reach, clean instrumentation, and an excellent control layout. We can't imagine anyone having trouble finding comfort in the cockpit of the V70.

Although the use of wood trim is limited to relatively small pieces, the various plastic panels feel soft and look rich, an impression that is supported by the V70's excellent fit and finish. Cushy leather elbow pockets in the doors advance the sensation of being inside an expensive cocoon.

Slip into the back seat behind a six-foot-tall driver, and you will also find a second very comfortable seat, but don't expect to cross your legs unless you're still in elementary school. All three rear-seat positions are fitted with shoulder belts, child-seat anchors, and even headrests.

When it's time to fold the seat and pack your parachutes or ice-climbing gear, the center rear headrest retracts and the outer ones fold down so that you don't have to fiddle with removing them. After flipping up the seat cushions and folding the rear seatbacks forward, the load floor is perfectly flat for its entire length.

Not only can you pack up to 72 cubic feet of thrill-sport equipment, but you can also deploy netting from the rear seatbacks that clips to the headliner, isolating the cargo compartment for ad hoc pet storage and preventing objects in the back from flying forward. There's even a neat panel that folds out of the rear load floor to form a compact area to constrain grocery bags (or bundles of pitons and carabiners) on the ride home. Alternatively, you can opt for a rear-facing third-row seat good for two fourth-graders.

But what we really like about the T5 is that in addition to hauling your family you can haul ass. Although the T5's turbocharged engine is a tad soft moving away from a dead stop, it is effortlessly powerful once on the move. Stand on the accelerator at 70 mph, and the T5 flattens you into your seatback as the transmission instantly drops down a couple of gears and brings the engine into its power-laden rpm band. In fact, the V70 T5 is easily the quickest station wagon you can buy short of the very rapid BMW 540i, which stickers just north of $56,000, more than 20 grand above the T5's $33,975 base price.

Volvo's Geartronic transmission will happily oblige you, should you want to shift the automatic yourself. Simply slide the gear lever toward you from the drive position to engage the manual mode. Then you can slap the lever forward or backward to shift up or down one gear at a time. And in this manual mode, the transmission almost never second-guesses you.

Feeding the T5's 247 horsepower through the wheels that steer is not necessarily a bad thing, saving maybe 200 pounds and $2000, but it does remind us of the limitations of high-powered front-wheel-drive cars.

Hard acceleration at low speeds produces that mixture of stiff steering feel and slight instability that characterizes torque steer. This sensation quickly disappears once you're off the gas or out of second gear, but even at high speeds, the V70's steering feel is not quite as lively or communicative as a good rear-drive sedan's.

That said, the T5's chassis is responsive and stable, even when you are exploiting every bit of its formidable capabilities. With an excellent balance of acceleration, handling, and braking, you can cover ground very rapidly without much effort in the T5. And this 2001 version delivers this performance with less tire thump and a more comfortable ride than its predecessors, despite its grippy P235/ 45VR-17 Pirelli P6000 gumballs.

For all of its traditional Volvo virtues of practicality, comfort, and safety, it is this all-around performance that distinguishes the T5 not only from other station wagons but especially from the ubiquitous sport-utility vehicle.

Among SUVs, for example, only the BMW X5 can match the T5's performance, handling, and braking. But it rides far harder than the Volvo, provides far less carrying capacity, and costs at least 10 grand more than the T5, comparably equipped. So if you want to enjoy the journey to and from your destination, as much as the exciting activity that awaits you there, the Volvo T5 is extremely tough to beat.

Wow! This is some luxury wagon. We often sneer at the "traditional family station wagon," but what exactly does that mean? Surely, the big Buick Roadmaster qualified as such a vehicle. But why can't this gorgeous V70, with its hard-charging 247-hp turbo five-in-line, be considered a "family" wagon? If I had young kids, I'd sure be happy to drive to piano lessons and soccer practice in this slick machine. It's a bit pricey -- I about choked when I saw the 45K as-tested

I can't recall any Volvo, or any sedan or wagon for that matter, coming so close to matching the exemplary ride of a BMW. When you drive over bumps on the highway in this V70, you get the same subtle thud-thud sound that's come to define German refinement. Overall, this is the best and most refined Volvo ever, and it has an energetic engine, too. My only gripes are radio buttons that are difficult to figure out without reading the owner's manual, and obscenely large buttons to direct air onto your face, torso, or feet. Still, this is the only car that can give the Audi A6 Avant and 5-series wagon a run for the money.
