Selling my 2008 BMW 550i e60 M sport. The following will contain a full overview of everything you will need to know if interested in purchasing this car —
OVERVIEW - I traded a vehicle and some cash to a friend for this car six months ago with the intention to sell it for cash right away. Long story short I fell in love with this magnificent beast of a car the instant I sat in the cockpit. Finally six months later because of financial reasons I gotta man up and unfortunately sell the thing. Only difference between this and the m5 is a 5.0 v10 engine (with much much more problems). Everything else including the exterior and interior features are all exactly the same. Everything is in great condition.

ENGINE - 4.8 L naturally aspirated V8, RWD. 367 hp. No modifications, all stock. 0-60~4.8. 360 ft-lb torque @ 3400 rpm. MPG ~ 15 -19 city 20-24 hwy depending on how you drive 93 octane only. 108k miles.

TRANS - 6 spd automatic, optional sport/ manual.

EXTERIOR - Beautiful, sleek dark navy blue color. Not a dent on the thing. Same exterior as the m5. Clean title. Very wide, long and aggressive frame. Low sitting and sporty-looking, however also elegant and luxurious. Visually the vehicle is extremely modern and has stood the test of time no doubt. I receive compliments all the time from people who suspect the car to be new, or worth more than it is. Features fog lights, sport suspension, sport wheels, and new tires. Sport wheels are gorgeous, and it’s truly what separates this model from other e60 bmw models. When cleaned they shine and look fresh with the aggressive front end. This car commands respect immediately on the road.

INTERIOR - Clean leather all around. No stains, no rips. Same interior as the m5. Everything is fully functional. Seats can be warmed, cooled, and adjusted to exactly how you would like, with lumbar support and many other options. Fully sound proof, can hear a pin drop when the windows are shut. Great sun roof. HUGE leg room, much more space compared to a 3 series sedan. Features i drive, which for 08 was way ahead of its time and tops a lot of newer cars electronics imo. It has navigation, maintenance, adjustable sounds, absolutely everything. Push out cup holders, leather steering wheel, etc. Back seats are very large and comfortable with lots of leg room. Awesome speakers. This version came with the upgraded version of speakers. Also has Bluetooth connection for music etc.

HANDLING/DRIVE- This is by far the best part of this car. The car is quite heavy and glides with ease on the asphalt. The smooth v8 engine pulls like a freight train when you need it, but it can be a tame luxurious cruiser if preferred. Comfort mode keeps rpms low, quiet and controlled with fuel efficiency high, while sport mode locks in the suspension, tightens the steering, and skyrockets the rpms. With the flip of a switch, this luxury vehicle is transformed into a roaring 400 horsepower beast that can smoke almost any car that passes you by (except maybe an m5). The v8 engine has a deep rumble which can definitely be heard if you want it to be, however it’s dead silent when driven tame. Active suspension pulls this car around corners like butter. The steering is smooth as ever. Features sport steering and sport suspension.

MAINTENANCE/RELIABILITY - I’m sure you have heard the horrors that occur with m5s or 550/528 or any bmw for that matter. The e60 550i however, when kept in good condition, has actually turned out to be a pretty reliable car. This can be verified across various forums. This car was fully inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase and passed without any significant issues. The brakes are fine (will be getting them checked out soon), engine is running great, no noticeable leaks, steering is fine, no engine lights; everything is surprisingly good. 550is are known to have valve seal issues (causes smoke from exhaust, eventually deteriorates cat converter) but I have never suspected anything of that matter with this car. That issue is caused by long oil change intervals, and it seems this car was maintained well with its previous owners (I suggest every 7-9k miles to change oil, 10w60. Use thicker oil to prevent oil burning and leaking, although it is more expensive) The CARFAX report comes through clean as can be with records of all of the upkeep of this vehicle, and no accidents at all. Overall the thing runs great and come check it out for yourself. There aren’t many of these cars around these days especially ones in good condition.
Overall this car is a hidden gem. The e60 550i sport is a perfect combination of a sport and luxury car. It is a relic in 2019 (try to find one on the market in good condition). At first sight the thing looks like an executive luxury vehicle, however what’s lurking under the hood is an untamed bull eager to be let loose. I’m selling for $9,799 because that’s what the car is worth. It retailed at $70,000. If you look online KBB and other sites have this car way undervalued because most of these cars are pieces of junk in 2019 with blown head gaskets, crap suspension, leaking seals and a whole lot of other unsuspecting issues. In good condition, no doubt in my mind is this car worth 9799 and it will sell after the first test drive I can almost guarantee. If you’re looking for a good balance of performance, executive elegance, luxury, reliability, and class, than this car is for you. No turbo bs, no fancy faulty electronics, just a raw, clean and powerful sports sedan. With proper maintenance I believe this vehicle can run well for a long time.
