Vehicle Description
I do my own work. It's a family tradition. I was living one town over from my best friend so I would do work at her house. Her husband is a licensed mechanic, so we made a great team. I used to work on my old Saturn by myself, but that was a toaster compared to the mini. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone here with the skill and knowledge who I trust to work on this car with me. So it's time for me to pass it on to someone else who can appreciate its handling and pick up. It is a fun little car. It has the rock solid German trans and R56 engine. It gets 32 mph daily and 38 on roadtrips. Growing up in the southwest, I'm used to trips where it's 100 miles between tire shops. I'm firmly against run-flats. It has hankooks and a pristine spare. It also has Bluetooth, heated seats and the panoramic sunroof.
I replaced the timing chain at 96,000 miles. I put in a new alternator and thermostat at 105,000 miles. Before I came out here, I took it into a shop for an in depth inspection. I had them replace gaskets for the exhaust manifold, turbo and oil filter housing since I was on a schedule with the move.

I got this car from an Army Captain who bought it for his wife while they were in Germany. They brought it over in the fall of 2015. (I actually think the fit and finish is a little nicer than the ones they send here) It's been in So Cal most of its life, so it's been pretty pampered.
