Recent preventative maintenance includes a new metal propeller water pump, new thermostat, new accessory belt, new battery, refurbished both convertible top transmissions, replaced top plastic ball joints, and lubed entire mechanism, fresh oil & filter change 500 miles ago (oil pan was dropped and was very clean, healthy motor), new hood and boot struts, coolant system was vacuum tested and refilled with lifetime pink euro coolant, new air and cabin filters, brand new oil cooler and o rings, and new radiator cap. Rear tires have 80% tread, front tires are around 40% and should be replaced in the next year or two.
The car runs smoothly through all gears, has very linear steering, is an absolute joy to drive. These are wonderful cars and it is nice to have a functioning convertible top at the push of a button. Exhaust sounds like a Porsche: classy yet sporty. Seats are comfortable, but are original so they have some cracking near the top and sides. 4 Spoked steering wheel feels great in your hands and allows for precise corrections and quick changes of direction in the twisty mountains. The rear has been de-badged on a custom rear trunk lid with sport wing.
Clutch engagement is excellent and each gear is smooth both in and out. Revs through all RPMS without issue. It is very light weight and therefore quicker than most would expect.
The paint has an excellent shine and was recently detailed and waxed, though it does have one major flaw. Drivers side rear side panel near the door received a ding (see photo)
The audio system sounds great with an adequate amount of bass for modern music and excellent mids/highs for hifi quality recordings.
