Used Kia Sportage (‘95) Very Good Condition - cars & trucks - by owner -... for sale in Menlo Park, CA

Great mechanical condition. I replaced the timing belt and other belts a couple years ago. It just passed emissions, and I can give you that certificate, or maybe the DMV has a digital record or something. Either way, I will give you the certificate. I just changed the oil (on Dec 4th) so you won't have to do that for a while.

Other recent replacements include the clutch, the alternator, radiator, the catalytic converter, and other odd parts. It runs great and always passes emissions with flying colors.

Every year, the state of California sends me an offer to buy it for $1,000 so they can junk it (even though it does great on emissions), so you could buy it and run it for a few years and, then sell it to them for $1,000 when you got sick of it or it broke.

It's an old car, and when I say it's in "very good" condition, I'm talking about how it works well and it's not suffering any mechanical problems and it passes emissions with flying colors. The cosmetic condition is not that great. It's not horrific, but it's not great. Here are some issues.

I took some plastic panels off several years ago and I never bothered to put them back on. I have the panels and the screws, but I have not boethered to put them back on yet. I will give them to you. These are depicted in one of the photos.

The passenger sun-visor doesn't really clip on properly, but it's not super annoying.

Someone bumped my back several years ago and dented the door and that metal thing that holds the spare tire so it can’t open the door. Maybe you can figure out how to open that or fix it. I’ve just lived with it.

You can’t open the back left door from the outside.

The glove-box isn't really attached properly and just sort of hangs on precariously. You don't really open the glove box as you just pull it off and then you just sort of re-hang it. When it's hanging there, it looks fine and it's not hitting the passenger's legs. It's only an issue when you want to open the glove box.

The battery is getting old and has been giving off some residue at the + terminal. I suspect you will have to replace it next.

The front left headlight has slid out a couple times to hang by the wires. I was thinking of taping or gluing it back in, but it stopped doing that. I'm not mechanically minded, so maybe that's a simple issue and maybe I just finally stuck it back in right or something.

The AC does not have any coolant in it, so it would have to be charged for the AC to work. You can do this yourself or pay to have it done. It slowly leaks out after you charge it like this. It’s too much of a hassle for me and I just live with no AC.

Those are the only real issues with the car.
