Used Ford Econoline Camper Van for sale in Brooklyn, NY
Vehicle Description
The van is insulated with reflectix, and there’s a roof hatch for warm nights. Lots of shelving and storage. Comes with everything you need for a long or short term trip: propane stove, cookware, water tanks, folding table, two chairs, lantern, tarps, tie-downs, fan, Lil Buddy propane heater (these are great), cigarette adapter power inverter, Jackery 240 power station + folding solar panel (charges Macbooks, phones, etc), small cooler and some other odds and ends. Ready to hit the road.
We lived in this thing for seven months, mainly boondocking in public lands out west. Ask us for #vanlife tips! Would also suit someone who wants to live in the city but go surfing or camping on weekends.
We never had any mechanical trouble with this van, and have service records from us and the previous owner. Original engine and transmission. She’s obviously an older vehicle, definitely not the fastest thing on the road, but reliable. There’s a security grate on the back windows. And again, no rust. Be careful when shopping for vans that have been street parked for the NYC winter!
Plenty of preventative maintenance has been done on this van, most recently tuning up the brakes. We used a reputable mechanic in Sacramento and that work is covered by free roadside assistance for the next few months, too. Should you ever have a problem, it’s such a popular model that parts are cheap and easy to come by.
There is some cosmetic damage on the van: one replaced fender that doesn’t blend with the paint job (by local BK street artists, commissioned by the previous owner, will get you lots of compliments and conversations on the road!), and a big scrape on the sliding door that looks a little gnarly. We also went swimming with the immobilizer (lol) so it no longer works. But could be fixable?
Compared to your RV-style rigs, the compact size of this van makes it great for stealth parking (if you’re into that sort of thing), as well as generally moving around in bigger cities. We mainly camped in national parks, state parks and public lands, and it’s perfect for that too.
We are sad to sell, but our trip is over and yours is about to begin!
