Vehicle Description
Maintained with OEM components, partly from Jeep and WinnebagoParts.com (they work on these engines and supply parts). These engines were made by Renault and placed into the Jeeps during the mid 1980s three year period when Renault owned Jeep. They are also used in the Winnebago LeSharo motor homes!
It performed at over 40mpg in early years when driving 55 in fifth gear. Current mpg is 27-30 around town, and 30 plus on highway at normal speeds. Higher if drive slower:)
This Jeep is a rare original, in excellent condition, 5 speed stick, turbo diesel 2.1L Renault OEM. It has OEM brush bar w/ tow kit and front hooks, roof rack, 4 doors. It also has an air horn!
Current mileage is 276K. Has many updated components including new head, water pump, master and slave clutch cylinder, new turbo, injectors, vacuum pump diaphragm, and more.
Recent maintenance includes reseal front hub, replace front hub u-joint. Lubed, tightened parking brake system. New front windshield sprayer nozzles, replaced slightly cracked rear taillight lens. etc. It is stored under cover.
