Used 1970 Jaguar E-Type for sale in Plainville, CT
Vehicle Description
This is a matching numbers Jaguar E-Type Regency Red 1970 Series II Open Touring Sports (OTS) Roadster with black leather interior. This Jaguar was in dry storage and covered for 15 years until it was professionally put it back into commission. This is not a concours car but an enthusiast driver car that is meant to be driven to local cars and coffee, rallies and events.
The exterior of the car has no rust and had a respray of its original color a number of years ago. It is believed that if there were any issues they would have surfaced by now. The chrome is in very good condition and the door, bonnet and trunk gaps all align well. A new convertible top was recently installed. It is a very original, very nice running car. The floors look totally original and the boot is rust free as well.
The interior has the original leather upholstery and is in excellent condition. The gauges were inspected and all work. The odometer currently reads 46,525 miles.
The engine and mechanicals were inspected, and worn-out parts were replaced. New brakes, all fluids were drained and replaced, new hydraulics, clutch master and brake master, new shocks, new suspension components, new Vredestein tires with new tubes, all new hoses and all new clamps. All fluids were drained and replaced, and the Zenith Stromberg carburetors were rebuilt and tuned. The motor timing was checked and the car was extensively tested to check all functions.
A car in this condition is hard to find. They are usually rougher, and you have to spend money to restore them or concours and you don’t want to drive them. This car is sorted and completely road tested for the next owner. It includes the tool roll and spare tire.
