Used 1966 Ford Galaxie for sale in Lithia Springs, GA
Vehicle Description
This is the right generation to step up into a Galaxie. Ford's full-sized offering had an ideal look of muscle car aggression with executive-class sophistication. Up front the vertical stacked headlights make a bold statement, and an artfully crafted grille takes up all the space in-between. The long fastback profile gives plenty of time to develop the sporty kick-up line that starts at the door and doesn't stop until it reaches the taillight. This one is for those who love a true classic style. You see it everywhere from the factory wheel covers to the wide chrome bumpers. And there was no better way to say premium in the 1960s than with a vinyl roof. The whole presentation on this coupe's exterior is about staying as stock style as possible. The upgrades are only subtle, like how the factory-correct Emberglo was updated a few years ago and even given a touch of metallic to make sure it has a nice luster in the sunshine.
Where the exterior is Emberglo and nice black accenting, the color theme is switched inside. And that makes for a stylish look inside and out. So this one will have you rolling down all the windows on this pillar-less hardtop just so people can get a better look at everything. The vintage feeling is everywhere on this one right down to the artful steering wheel with the correct center cap. There are even fun details, like how the AM radio also has the classic FM converter (all there for display.) And this even has the era-correct air conditioning system (it will need servicing to function again.) While this has a very classic-style presentation, there have also been investments in the right places. The carpeting and upholstery look correct but they have a fresher feel of a later investment. That really keeps this one a comfortable cruiser with the size to carry everyone.
This was born a Z-code car, and so you'll love to lift the hood and see that the fender callouts weren't lying. The big 390 cubic-inch V8 with factory four-barrel carburetor was one of the best motors of the day. This one retains quite an authentic perennation, which really fits with this coupe's stock-style vibe. You can see by the condition of the wires, belts, and hoses that it has been given the proper care over the years. That's why it also fires up and runs well. The V8 has nice torque to get you off the line, and there's plenty of power on the road, but the aim is not to be a muscle machine. The Galaxie has a dignified top-tier kind of feeling that you understand with the subtler note from the dual exhaust. Plus, with the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and plush ride, it really loves to cruise the boulevard with ease.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card, owner's manual, and maintenance records. This is a value-priced classic with plenty of appeal. So don't miss your opportunity at this premium full-size hardtop. Call today!
