Used 1961 Vespa Scooter for sale in Houston, TX

Annex Houston is proud to cosign this 1961 Vespa 150 Sprint. Patented in 1946, only 2,500 Vespas were sold in 1947. Sales increased quickly and steadily over the years with 1950 seeing 60,000 sold. To say the least, the parent company, Piaggio, knew it was onto something. The brainchild of Enrico Piaggio, the son of Piaggio & Co. Founder Rinaldo Piaggio, the Vespa helped war-torn Italy get back on wheels and maneuver the ravaged roads in a modern, cost-effective manner. Enrico hired Renzo Spolti and Vittorio Casini to design a small motorbike with a body that concealed the drivetrain and provided both a flat foot well and a large, frontal splash and stone guard to protect riders. Corradino D’Ascanio, an aeronautical engineer, was hired to smooth over what Spolti and Casini produced, and his design is largely what is still being produced today. This 1961 Vespa 150 Sprint is a fantastic example of a legendary cruiser that is fun to zip around upon and enjoy. Equipped with a buddy seat over the carryall, it also has a spare tire.
