Used 1954 Studebaker Antique for sale in Lutz, FL
Vehicle Description
This one brings together some of the best ideas around. 1954 was the final year for the aggressively sharp nosed Studebaker styling, but it was also the first year they introduced the two-door wagon body. Not too many people remember this because wagons are traditionally some of the most expensive cars in the lineup, and thus, they remain rare. So you've got a terrific base for a restomod. They got the body extra smooth and deleted the trim before the first drop of black went down. So this high-gloss metallic finish could almost be called Black Ice. It's so attractive that they gave this one a full blackout style that includes the bumpers, grille, upgraded sport mirrors, blacked-out trim, and more. That aggressive and distinct nose was utilized to the fullest on this sleek build with ghost flames painted on top so that you get a hint of metallic intimidation every time the sunshine finds the pointy front end. Within this darkness, you'll also find hints of light, including the pinstriping that highlights some of the classic lines in the sheetmetal. And with this midnight machine, you can't help but take notice of those bright Foose polished alloys. They have a 18/20 inch front/rear stagger to give this a terrific stance no matter how you have the air ride suspension dialed-in.
Pop the remote door openers to reveal the dark and premium attitude that continues inside. The days of the family-style bench seat up front are long gone, and now replaced with power adjusting bucket seats. These have modern bolstering and are finished in supple leather with artful red stitching. This is set up to be a terrific driver. That's why you have an armrest center console, a tilt steering column, and full set of Classic Instruments gauges. And we bet you just love the way the steering wheel has custom flames and the Studebaker name etched in the center. This is still a wagon with a comfy back seat, and so you have a ton of features to keep family and friends happy. This includes power windows, cup holders, and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the radio is an upgraded AM/FM/CD unit with USB input, and it's your gateway to an upgraded JL Audio speaker system. The tailgate still opens up wide to take on cargo, but really, we bet the only thing you'll be hauling home in this restomod are some awards.
You're going to want to lift the distinctive hood wherever you park, because everyone is going to want to see this modern V8 filling the engine bay. The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 is a terrific fuel-injected upgrade, and this one is ready to show off with everything from a polished intake to a mirror-smooth firewall. While this restomod is a looker, it was also built to be a true driver. That's why you have pieces like the aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans to help keep this running cool in all conditions, and the four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. There's even cruise control! The undercarriage photos show an upgraded suspension with tubular A-arms up front and a four-link rear. Add in the power rack & pinion steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and modern sport tires with deep treads, and you can see how this sleek Studebaker is ready to take you near or far.
Complete with restoration photos, this is an awesome build of a rare classic. And even if you could find another '54 wagon, you know the time and money invested to get this level of quality would never beat this deal. So don't miss your chance, call today!
