Equipped with a 350ci Dart engine, BDS supercharger and Turbo 350 transmission this frame off restoration is one of the nicest out there. The interior is all custom upholstery over Glide seat frame, custom radio and gauges as well as AC. This Confederate also has a custom built frame and suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes and R amp;P steering. The car was appraised back in 2012 for $120,000 by ACP Automotive Consulting Professionals out of NY. Equipped with a Dart block, 6-71 BDS blower this engine has been Dyno Tested to 400+ HP! Only 31 miles have been put on the Dark block since the build. The current owner purchased the car around 2002 in Brooklyn to be rebuilt as a street rod. The car started as an intact body 1932 Chevy with an original wooden frame and preserved steel body. What made this model so unique? In its day it was considered the common mans Cadillac. The old advertisements describe it as the modern streamline beauty of custom cars priced with Chevrolets traditional economy. It had: silent synchro-mesh shift, simplified free wheeling, improved six-cylinder engine, 60 horsepower, 65-70 miles an hour, faster, quieter getaway, smoother operation, smarter Fisher Bodies, greater comfort andvision, and unequalled economy. Yes, models started at $475. The 32 Five Window Coupe is a stage coach covered with steel. It had a rumble seat, running boards, and 5 windows. In addition, this model sported dual chromed horns on the front, chromed louvers on thehoods, and a chromed flying eagle as a hood ornament. It wasknow as the deluxe model, called the Confederate. In 2003 the restoration began. The restoration was commissioned to various shops listed below and lasted several years. By 2011 the car was completed, appraised, and on the road for shows and special events! The previous owner has cherished this car from its creation and it is now ready for its next rightful owner. The transmission was also custom designed for the specs of this engine.-Tony Giriesci - well-known race car builder in Babylon, NY sheet metal expert.-Bernie Schacker - a famous drag racer and fabricator who invented the first rear engine dragster on LI. Bernie fabricated the new gas tank, and insisted on fabricating hand built headers. Custom designed pedals to fit in the tight space. -Bill Carberry - Cap-A-Rad in Farmingdale, NY for installation of an AC and cooling system, including electric fan.-Tony DiPrima of Commack, NY - dissembled the entire body and painted the pieces by hand, in Cadillac Color Red E. Installed the complete Ron Francis wiring system, sound and equalizer. Finished the lighting, the horns and electronics. In this era, the driver got out on the passenger side, after locking his side from the interior; then the passenger door lock had the keyway, which would secure the car. This might have been a safety feature so the driver would not disembark into the street. Tony had to restructure the rumble seat lid using new metal for alignment. The rumble seat has a functioning key lock, and the compartment holds the battery. Tony contracted for the glass work done at his house. And Tony arranged for Angelo, the upholsterer, who did the complete interior from headliner to doors to floor mats.
