Vehicle Description
The base vehicle is a 1998 Ford Econoline Club Wagon with the V8, which drives super well. Tires are in great shape and are Uniroyal Laredos - an all-season touring tire. Freshly changed oil, oil filter, transmission fluid, wiper blades, and replaced headlight bulbs. I just converted them to LED which works so much better than the original halogen bulbs.
Included in the build:
Goal Zero Yeti 1250 220V Power Station (This means the full-sized plugs will only work with 220V compatible devices/chargers, but I will include a full-size step-down converter which allows for 110V usage) (Pictured domestic fridge not included, but the power system is fully ready to accept a new one)
100W Renogy Flexible Solar Panel (Wired through the roof using water-proof gland, routed through the wall to the Goal Zero)
USB Rechargeable Water Pump/Faucet and Sink Basin (No grey water or drain, I simply use the sink then empty it outside)
Kitchen/living space table, bed frame, mattress (Full-sized bed with 8 inches cut off the side, so 38" wide)
Door and wheel well storage boxes (Door box has an extendable cutting board that can be popped open when you open the side door.
Rear door ladder - lightweight aluminum (max load of 200lbs) - great for cleaning solar panel.
Reflectix window coverings, and blackout curtain which extends over the front seats
The carpet has been removed from the front seats, all the way to the back, and the insulation was replaced. I then covered the floor with particleboard and covered that with synthetic/vinyl wood flooring.
Thule Tracrac crossbars, only 2 months old. (Awning not included)
The black section of paint on the exterior is actually a wrap, and the whole van is the navy flake color - easily removed if you wish. Small areas of paint damage, and rear-wheel well rust.
There is also damage to various parts of the fabric wall covering, but this is an easy fix.
Built this van for camping and longer trips. I'm a cyclist, so I also built the van with carrying bikes in mind. Next to the bed, several bikes can be rolled in and bungied so they aren't on a rack outside. Obviously it's not perfect, but it's a great first vanlife van and a very low price point for this type of set up.
