Used Classic '89 Jag XJS V-12 convertible for sale in Atherton, CA

Striking 1989 black convertible Jaguar XJ S with V-12 engine. Strong engine. Recently put 6,000 worth of work into it. Has 82,300+ original miles. Replaced valve cover gaskets, new front and rear shocks and struts, tune up, hood struts replaced, oil/filter changed, new spark plugs, valve hose, intake manifold and throttle body gasket, replaced wire set to ignition, new battery, new brakes [not ABS] that work great. Terrifically fun drive. Picture yourself with top down driving by the beach. Stunning model. Drove it down to Pacifica yesterday. Runs cool.

Passed smog last time required in California. Just got 2020 yellow tag. Bought it from a disabled man who sold it to benefit the LeMay Auto Museum in Washington State. Have worked bit by bit to renew it mechanically. Was fine before, but was making it extra safe mechanically for myself. Did that before superficial things. What's left now: it has new air conditioning compressor/freon, but needs a good AC guy to connect fan, AC, heating on this model. Recently took a drive through Woodside to Half Moon Bay and with windows down, no air conditioner was necessary nor heater.

Just replaced burl wood center console to update and add drink cups. The perfectionist might want to replace rest of the wood veneer, although it is original, but somewhat veneer cracked. [A kit is available on eBay and through dealers]. The wood is okay for a convertible and in fact one wouldn't worry about it in the condition it's in now, however to upgrade the car, new wood would be spiffier.

Ebay has a lot of parts for these models and most are now not that expensive. A lot of people are not saving them so this will definitely be a collector's car in a few years. Mecum Auctions recently stated they thought this is the most undervalued car, and poised to take off in the collectible arena. It has the XK E engine, but with modern updates.

This 1989 was the last year that Jaguar made these. The Ford Company bought Jaguar at the end of 1989, beginning of 1990. So you would have a true Jaguar, that will continue to be a collectible. Could use a new top and/or or new top headlining as recent rains and a detailing caused issues with black convertible top lining. Chrome is terrific, chrome wire wheels. Have parts book, original manual, Three original keys; my records of recent work completed.

Take this beauty to the next level. I am not driving it enough and it needs some one to enjoy its power and classic lines. My neighborhood is now planning to prevent parking on the street which is where this car is sitting, with a cover. Since it's a classic, insurance through Hagerty's is available for a lot less than normal cars are insured for. A great car for any car lover....I need to simplify my life.......so am paring down...... I have just retired, and have 4 cars and need to reduce responsibilities. Make this beauty your own. Is worth $11,000. and in perfect condition, about $24,000. Only a few fairly inexpensive surface things to be done now. Is a bargain but I will take 5,000. cash firm. One thousand dollars will go to Make a Wish Foundation.
