Selling my 1956 VW oval window bug on a 1960 pan (titled as a 1960). Car is not pretty, but VERY solid and was driven around the block early in the spring of 2020 as well as in the 2012(?) Woodward Dream Cruise.
THIS CAR NEEDS A COMPLETE RESTORATION. It has dry rot tires and steering and braking systems that need going through. It will need to be taken home on a flatbed.
I have owned the car for nearly 20 years and almost all of that time it has been stored in the garage. Shortly after I purchased the car, it was handed to Munks Motors who updated the braking system, restored and rubberized the gas tank an a few other things. Unfortunately shortly thereafter, I injured my back and wasn't able to do much on the car so it has mostly been sitting. There are a couple of small rusted out spots on the floor - one (shown) behind the drivers seat and the other under the battery. There is also a rusted area on the body behind the passenger door (see photo). A repair panel for that area is included in the sale.
In the last year the car has gotten a new 6V battery, new plugs and basically parts to do a complete tune up. It wouldn't stay running for me today however - I thinks it's either out of gas or has old gas. Car comes with a rebuilt steering gear box, a restore-able period correct steering wheel, a factory VW tow bar and a aftermarket engine rebuild stand.
