My 2002 BMW 325i Touring slicktop. Technically a manufacture date of Oct of '01 but...close enough. 165k. If mileage bothers you despite the work I've put in, then please look elsewhere, I can't roll the mileage back. Its also auto so again...

I purchased this appx 1 year ago from another gentleman who had owned it for the bulk of its life. When I took ownership, this car had original everything, and I don't mean much of it hadn't been touched...it was all original everything. I think she got oil changes and gas for 17 years. My goal was to bring it back to life and have a unique and fun daily, date night car, occational track toy. I've owned and restored and tracked pretty much every bmw from 2002's, e30, e36, and m models. This is my first e46 and first touring at that. Luckily, bmw's are essentially cookie cutters of one another so getting this back into fighting shape was pretty straight forward.

Work I've completed using new parts.
-Bilstein sport shock
-Eibach sport lowering springs (touring specific)
- DMG motorsport front strut brace
-Lemforder front control arms
-Bimmerworld solid front control arm mounts
- dealer sway bar end links
- dealer top hats (front)
- AKG rear upper mounts (monumental pita to install)
- dealer inner and outer steering linkage
-Z3 non-M steering rack conversion
- dealer steering coupler assembly
- oil pan replacement (whole new pan)
- weld-in oil pan baffle for track day use (my work has a metal fab shop so one of the guys welded it in real nice)
- dealer spark plugs, valve cover gasket, spark plug tube gaskets, valve cover replacement
- desa valve
- maf sensor
- complete PCV replacement (pulled the manifold and replaced every tube, hose, boot, o-ring, seal, gasket, pipe, canister from the cold side of the head to the air box) all new
- performed the "02 mod" which was a major success on oil consumption I was experiencing. Does not lose or blow by any oil during 3k mile intervals.
- oil filter housing assembly replacement- radiator, tank, hoses, cooling system replacement
- all 4 o2 sensors
- took the time to dielectric grease every electrical connector and plug during re-install of all the engine related wiring just to cover my bases.

So that's the rundown of what I've done in a calendar year. I converted it from a total turd to an extremely smooth running, fun and most importantly, reliable car. There is a 'clear gas' fill station near my home and I've been filling it with non ethanol gas from day 1. More power, runs smoother, extra 40 miles per tank. AC blows cold, heat blows hot, rear glass defrost works. all the buttons and switches work. It has a factory CD player so grab your Kenny G records and have a blast. Tags are good til 9/22.

Now - this cant be just a dream post, things that are OK with me, someone else has to accept. I live in part of the state that doesn't have DEQ testing, so I'm free to do whatever I want with my vehicles. I wanted to drop some weight out of the engine bay, clean up the clutter and throw in non-catted headers and exhaust. again, I wanted a weekend toy/track option. There is an SES light on. It is for the air pump that I removed. The wires are still there and tucked away, but the pump is long gone. It effects exactly nothing...there's just a light on. The steering is heavy if you're not moving. I installed a quick-steer rack that in all likliehood needs the corresponding Z3 pump. I was thinking of just deleting the PS pump all together...point is, it again, effects nothing other than you'll notice it coming in and out of parking spots. Otherise, its nothing. What you will notice is the lock-to-lock steering is way faster and very linear...which, as an enthusiast, is very enjoyable.

Things I was waiting for:
I was really just waiting around for the transmission to quit so I could swap in a manual...but it doesn't even pretend to have an issue so I just left it alone. I was waiting for the front brakes to need changing to swap in a C43 brake kit....but again, darn thing just won't quit so they're still there. I was waiting til next spring to throw on a set of sway bars and braided brake lines...but here I am selling it.

This car is killer, its so fun to drive. Extremely well balanced between performance and comfort. The stance is functional, not street sweeper. Sport suspension is firm but your fillings will remain intact. The exhaust is stock and quiet, the auto trans is just a set it and forget it affair. To be honest, I kinda like the touring as an auto, it's not a race car, its just low and slow in all the style you want.

Fun build, fun car - but I'm off to other interests and this needs a good home.
