The Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford Crown Victoria - known as the "Panther" platforms, are the most durable, long-lasting, comfortable, and most well-designed 4-door sedans ever made in the USA.
And THIS ONE is the VERY BEST of them all. I bought this car for Dad who's a retired Aerospace engineer. When he's fastidious about his cars, he's no-expense-barred service, maintenance, and parts. Only the best will do.
Mechanicals: Ford's famously durable, powerful and efficient "Mustang V-8," the 4.6 liter. Only 78k miles on this car since new.
I have over $5000 in receipts for preventative maintenance done in the past few years, including:
- Intake manifold retrofit to the reinforced aluminum water-neck style, along with OEM water pump and all new hoses, etc. Essentially a fully rebuilt cooling system.
- Suspension: ALL front end components replaced with the "high performance option" USA-made Moog components, including upper and lower control arms and all bushings replaced with polyurethane. Parts and labor totaled more than $1700.
- Transmission: Factory Serviced and filled with Mercon V.
- Tires: Brand new high performance low-profile Goodyears within the last year. The car handles like it's on a rail.
- Air conditioning: Compressor, dryer, accumulator, and lines were all replaced. Blows ice cold.
- Full tune up including plugs, ignition, oil change. All completed. Premium Battery 1 year old.
- Interior: High quality leather interior always cleaned and conditioned with Meguiars leather care. Seats soft and comfortable in flawless condition. Window tint on all windows. ALL window regulators have been replaced with upgraded aftermarket lifters (common problem). All operate flawlessly.
Dad's driving days have unfortunately come to an abrupt end and we can't justify keeping an additional car even as tempting it is as this is such a useful, roomy, and reliable vehicle.
It's offered for $5600. I have the receipts and records demonstrating that the value of the parts and labor alone exceed the asking price. Thus, you are essentially purchasing a "new" car with every wear point on the vehicle addressed. Needs nothing and will be a pleasure to own and drive.
