Used 4WD 2002 F-350 XLT Super Duty Super Cab - cars & trucks - by owner -... for sale in Delta, CO

This is a great looking, running, (and stopping) one ton. I looked at it, and in it, then test drove it and heard why it was being sold during the test drive (that I was delighted with)...and was sold on it myself. I was told it was put in a condition this year to be mechanically sound and safe enough to pull a 5th wheel back and forth seasonally, from Illinois to Las Vegas. It had just made it's first trip, for it's owners to spend winter in Vegas, a short while before. After hauling through the Rockies what turned out to be (as a surprise to the owners after their first scale stop) a total of 17,000 lbs on it and behind it, they decided they needed a bigger engine. So, the owner's bought an F250 with a diesel, for their return to Illinois next year, and put this truck up for sale. I was passing through Vegas and saw the ad posted just hours before by them, and just happened to be the first one to arrive to look at (and then buy) the truck. I had cash in hand as I had been looking in CA for a good 4x4 investment vehicle for our Ministry in the SUV area out there and finding none, on the way back to CO, just for the heck of it opened my laptop at my Vegas hotel and saw the ad for this truck. Among other things (some of which I think I forget) the man told me that a rebuilt 5.4 was put in about 100k miles or so ago, and a new air-conditioning system had just been installed (I am trying to get the mechanic's records now from him.) New calipers and brakes along with at least one tie-rod, can be seen from under the truck, which is as I was told I would find if I looked, along with the typical rust one finds under an Illinois truck. There is a new stereo with telephone (microphone on the steering column), satellite ready, jacks for plugging in, and a remote control. It It is set up with a new electric brake control, and the mirrors can pull out for trailering, with plug-ins at the receiver for either flat 4-pin or round 7-pin type of trailer wiring harness. It has 'Lock-Out' hubs as one picture shows. New tires had been put on in the not too distant past, and after my own drive with the truck through the mountains on the way to the Western Slopes, I have no doubt about anything the seller had told me about the truck. The interior is in great shape, with only a small spot worn through from sliding down out of the driver's seat. Carpeting is great and can be seen in pics, and I do have the floor mats that protected the installed carpeting, but they are kind of worn out. Cruise, tilt, pwr windows, and as the truck itself has more than a few miles on it, I was and am really only concerned that it is mechanically sound and safe on the road. We of course registered and insured the truck in Colorado, in case we keep it...or if it doesn't sell, but so far there has been a lot of interest. It is nice to see up over most of the traffic too. There remains things to dink with to make it better and better, but the more time and money we spend...the more we will need back from it, for as my brother told me when I first showed it to him, " Yeah, its great...but what in the world do we need a one ton 4x4 for? And as we are both retired now from construction...I had to agree that the truck would probably just sit around while I drove my Toyota, and could be put to better use by someone who needs to fetch around more than just themselves and some groceries. So, basically we have arrived at the 7k considering it's current condition and what we have in it. Be advised please, that our price is very firm based on that a new one like it would be about 8-10 times more to buy, while this one will do the same job for at least a couple of years for just 7k all in. So, our price might go up, but until after winter, certainly won't go down. Please call show contact info

For you see...I have COPD and Asthma, am 68 and overweight, which means that I am at risk from Covid in every way, yet would need to go with on any test drive closely exposed to you, so please be a very serious buyer, having seen the pictures and already spoken to me where I should be able to answer most of your concerns telephonically, before we agree on a test drive. Please be advised that I have a bluetooth in my ear till 5 or so, with my phone anywhere up to 50' away, and don't stop what I am doing if I hear a 'bloop' meaning I have a text or message on my phone, and in fact sometimes forget to check for texts (like I haven't today and it is after 11 in the morning. In response to some questions...the previous owner told me that he would bring the factory tail-gate and some of the maintenance records and rebuild records when next he went back home to Illinois where he left it. I am to meet him in Grand Junction on his return trip where we would exchange the current 5th wheel type tailgate now on the truck, for the factory one. I cannot guarantee that this will actually happen, though. I called him once about it, and all he said was that he and his wife would probably make the trip "in a couple of weeks".
