Used 24 Hours of Lemons Lancia race car for sale in Petaluma , CA
Vehicle Description
This 1977 Lancia Scorpion has just completed the Sonoma 24 Hours of Lemons race dead in the middle of the pack and fresh off an IOE victory. If you know what you're doing this will be a competitive Class C car. It handles great, is very easy on tires and brakes, comes complete with Evil Genius/John Pagel cage, harness is good until end of the year, Kirkey series 65 17" seat that is very comfortable (except perhaps for wider people) and fire suppression. It is literally race ready.
The engine in it now makes good compression (190-210psi across all 4 cylinders), has high compression pistons and race cams, makes good oil pressure, new exhaust, electronic Pertronix ignition kit in the distributor, etc.). This is the famous Lampredi/Fiat twincam engine that dominated Group B rally racing for many years in the 80's.
Tires were new before the last race (Falken Azenis 615k+), we generally get ~3 races out of each set of tires (YMMV). Also has brand new shocks just installed before the last race. JAZ 16 gallon fuel cell installed in the frunk. We can get 3 hours per tank, you might be able to dial in the carburetor for even better fuel economy. Gauges include two temperature, oil pressure, A/F ratio, volts, tach, and an oil pressure switch warning light, plus a water temperature switch warning light (but this doesn't work). It never overheats, we don't even use the radiator fans.
Spares include:
full set of wheels with decent tires (same Falken Azenis)
tons of engine parts (cams, cam boxes, flywheels, valve springs, shims for valve adjustments, all the gaskets imagineable)
repair manual
extra transmission (second or third gear synchro has slight wear)
rebuilt engine with stock pistons (not high compression, would be good for a turbo or supercharger build)
suspension parts, axles, rear bearing carriers
brake pads, clutch disk, and other wear items
These cars share parts with many Fiats (124, X1/9, etc), but beware that some parts may fit but not work the same. For example Lancia distributors spin backwards from Fiat distributors, despite looking identical.
$3000 for everything
