Hi all!

Long story short, I have an extremely reliable 2009 RAV4 that I am interested in trading/trading with some cash on top for something that can tow a bit more - primarily 4 Runners from 2003-on and Tacomas from 2005 on, but I’ll potentially consider other stuff as well. I would prefer something with under about 140,000 miles, but I’ll consider higher mileage cars too - if you are looking for something more fuel efficient that still has a ton of room, and that is still great in the snow, you’re in luck. Since this is the 4 cylinder RAV4, it is rated at 22/28 city/highway mpg - if you keep your speed below about 65, the upper end of that is quite realistic for highway driving.

To elaborate a bit more - I have had this RAV4 since late 2018, when it had 80,000 miles. I bought it from someone who had it from 30,000 miles on, so it’s basically a 2 owner car from a maintenance perspective, and all the maintenance has been done on time - the previous owner had all the maintenance done at the dealership, and it always gets synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles. It has been incredibly reliable. It has all wheel drive, with a selectable center locking differential switch, and comes with 2 sets of wheels and tires - the summer set are highly rated Michelin all season light truck tires, with a ton of tread left on them.

The others are top rated snow tires, with tons of tread, mounted on their own wheels, with the pressure sensors.

I get tons of compliments on this car - people really like the look of it. It’s basically just a stock RAV4 but with wheel spacers and bigger mud flaps, and the bull bar on the front - all are easy to remove if you’d prefer it without.

It also comes with a Yakima bike rack that mounts on the spare tire (this is super convenient - it can stay on and still allow you to open the back gate, even with bikes on), and with weathertech mats throughout ($300), and nice neoprene seat covers.

It has a hitch and trailer wiring, but it’s only been used to tow two times total, and never before I owned it (it didn’t have the hitch when I got it).

I did also add some suspension air bags for the back, so if you have it loaded up with people and gear for camping trips the back suspension doesn't sag. It's fully adjustable, you can inflate or deflate both from one connector with a bike pump.

I also made some platforms for the back to sleep in the car - they're awesome, if you slide the front seats forward they allow even a very tall person to sleep very comfortably. They're custom designed for this car. If you need the second row, both platforms fit easily in the trunk. ]

Honestly, I love this car and am sad to see it go, but I recently got a little fixer-upper camper, and I’d eventually prefer something a bit bigger to tow it once it is ready. I think this could do it, just might be hard on it eventually, so it seems like it makes more sense to just look for something bigger. I’m not in any hurry, and am just hoping to find a trade - I can’t really sell it before getting something else, so a trade would be perfect if it worked out.
