40 miles per gallon - I can drive this Mini from LA or OC to Phoenix in 3/4 of a full gas tank (13 gal tank).

This is a very fun-to-drive car. Still, it's well built and relatively inexpensive to own & maintain.

Normally aspirated I-4 high-rev motor + 6-speed manual transmission; electric power steering; climate control; panoramic glass sun/moon roof; power windows & door locks; front log lamps; AM/FM radio + CD player; Bluetooth connection for cellular phone, etc.

Custom USB wired for cellular phone charger & phone holder - for 100% hands-free phone operations, very convenient (and "lawful") for spirited driving while carrying on a phone conversation. :-)

Transmission & clutch shift nicely - quick and smooth, gears hold with no slips ever!

Over all chassis/suspensions are tight. But also very comfortable ride.

HISTORY:

This 2009 Mini Cooper Coupe' was originally bought from a dealer in CA. It has 4-5 owners, but also has a very well-documented history.

Zero major incidents reported in Carfax.

This has been my vehicle that I kept for my weekly commute in Irvine/CA. I had the car for a few years when it had about 95K miles, it now has less than 114K miles. I used to drive about 10 miles a day, 3 days a week in Irvine. Thursday-Sunday, the car was in my garage there and I flew back to Phoenix.

Needless to say - since Mar. 2020, I have been working out of my Phoenix home office and had no need to travel to CA. Thus, I drove the car back to AZ and keep it here.

Now that we have decided that I only need to come to CA once a month and stay for a whole week - I also either have a company car if I stay at my home there, or a hotel within walking distance to my office near the Irvine Spectrum. Therefore, I no longer have a need to keep this 2009 Mini Cooper - although I'd be happy to keep if the car does not sell.

While the car has been in my ownership, it has been maintained by a Land Rover + Jaguar + Mini shop in Irvine. In Phoenix, Ultimate European in Buckeye has worked on it. All just regular & preventive maintenance.

Prior to my ownership, other owners appeared to keep good care of the vehicle.

I have about a 1" thick stack of service/repair records to prove that the vehicle has been well cared for.

$360/year insurance, $30/tank every fill-up w/ Costco 92-octane gas. Mobile 1 oil top-off between oil change. Pretty much all necessary to have the motor humming happily from 2000 RPM to 6000 RPM!

Regular oil & water level checks - like twice a month. The I-4 motor is very robust (unlike the direct-port fuel-injection Turbo motor in the Cooper S that require expensive valve cleaning service). It is a high-rev motor and it will burn oil - but not excessively, no more than half a quart a month. This motor also has a timing chain, so good lubrication will keep everything function tip top.

Beyond that, find a good and honest and knowledgeable independent repair shop for the regular maintenance works!

NOTES:

One very minor dent at the panel right behind the driver's door, so minor that I didn't see if when I first looked at the car to purchase it. Took it to my mechanic shop in Irvine/CA for the PPI and he gave it 10/10 for age & conditions of the car at the time.

A couple of minor things that I want to mention for full disclosure. (1) Radio is currently not operating (probably just the internal fuse broke or the main harness got loose) - I might have some times to fix it before the sale, but most buyers might opt for replace the head unit with a newer infotainment system anyway. (2) Passenger airbag warning light is on occasionally - this is a very common failure in Mini Cooper of that vintage as the weight sensing element in the seat can have intermittent contact (never bother me that much since this has been my local commute vehicle in CA which I am mostly by myself).

All blemishes are already on the vehicle at the time of my acquisition. I only brought the overall conditions to the best possible!

Two cracks in the windshield. Both happened in Phoenix in the last 1.5 years, I-10 between 7th Ave. & 51st Ave. Would recommend new owner to have glass insurance if desired.
