Used 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 GT for sale in North Billerica, MA
Vehicle Description
-original owner was a Mazda employee and babied the car, I'm the second owner and I also baby it (I don't drive it hard just to feel the turbo, I always let the engine idle after a drive to let the turbo cool, etc)
-low mileage. you won't find a mazdaspeed 3 with lower mileage than this
-immaculate interior. no rips or tears, leather is in excellent condition, original owner also bought custom-fitted weather guard mats for it so it's set for the winter months
-BONE STOCK. there are absolutely no modifications on this car, so it's either the blank slate you're looking for or the unmolested hot hatch you thought didn't exist
-have all the paperwork from my ownership, plus the clean carfax the original owner gave me from his time owning it
The Bad:
I had Dan's Auto Repair in Billerica (incredible shop, highly recommend them) give it an inspection to let me know if there were any issues I should list on the ad. they told me the following;
-the synchros for 2nd gear are starting to wear down. however the rest of the synchros are fine, and i can show you how to avoid the damaging the synchros further. the mechanic took a sample of the transmission fluid and found NO metal shavings, so as long as you are careful with 2nd gear the transmission should have plenty of life in it before it needs replacement.
-the driver's side rear brake is worn down and the mechanic suspected it was an issue with the caliper as well as the brake, so you will prob have to replace that. I had somebody swing by to check the car and they noted that it was probably just the pads though.
the value of this car in this condition with this mileage is around $8,500 but given the mechanic's assessment I don't feel comfortable selling it at that, so I took a significant amount off to reflect the future work it may need. if you're looking for a practical car with some extra punch behind the pedal and you don't mind tackling a modest project, this car is for you.
