Vehicle Description
$7k is a great price it is well below the current market value of roughly $10k. I'm looking for a quick hagle-free sale. There are a few small non-mechanical things I wanted to fix up before selling it but never got around to which is why the price is lower.
-The leather on the drivers side seat is messed up. Its cracking and coming off so you probably just want to keep a seat cover on it to hide it. The other option would be to go on Ebay or something like that and buy a couple of used W219 seat cushions in good condition and replace. The cushions would be about $200 total..
-The drivers side window regulator needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I know the rebuild kits go for about $30 which is the cheapest option or the whole regulator can be found online for about $150 or so. The window motor seems to be working fine.
-A small spot of the clearcoat on the hood is peeling. Maybe this can be touched up? If you wanted to repaint the whole hood I know you can get it done for about $200 if you go to the right place.
-Every once and awhile a notification pops up on the dashboard saying "low voltage" but nothing is affected by it and it goes away on it's own. The car has a brand new alternator and battery so everything is solid. My guess is the bcm might be a little loose and causing the notification. I noticed this the other day but have yet to investigate further. It might just need to be tightened down better.
-The previous owner installed HID headlight bulbs so when you turn them on a notification pops up because they are not stock. There is a way to get rid of this but I don't know much about it and it hasn't bothered me enough to investigate.
-The remote on the key fob isn't working. But still works in the ignition fine. Basically this means you have to unlock-lock the car with the key and not the remote so you may want to just get a new key fob. The dealership can do this but they are over-priced you're probably better off going to a local locksmith that can program a Mercedes key. They will be a fraction of the cost.
Other than these few minor things car is great. Mechanically there are no problems at all and it drives like a dream. At 7k for a luxury car of this quality you cant beat it!
It's also worth noting that I just had the SBC unit replaced with a brand new system and done professionally by the Mercedes dealership. This is a $4,500 repair and is necessary on any W219 after a certain amount of miles. Be aware of this if you are looking at another CLS that hasn't had this replacement done yet. The SBC unit controls the braking function of the car.
