Used 2006 Mazda 6 S Sport, Manual for sale in Enfield, CT

This car was involved in a rear end collision on 8/22/19. The car still drives fine, as the alignment wasn't effected by the accident. There is definitely some body work that needs to be done; mainly to the trunk. The trunk door does not latch closed. Bummer is; it now has a salvage title.

The rear bumper cover should be replaced, as it's cracked at the bottom. I'm not sure if any work needs to be done to the actual bumper in the rear, but I'm guessing it does. There is no damage to the rear quarter panels, which is fantastic.

The estimate from the insurance company (if I remember correctly) was around $2000 to do the work to pass Connecticut's Rebuild/Salvage Re-title requirements. They valued the car at $3250, and since the other repairs (the bumper cover replacement and OEM paint match, brake light replacement, other miscellaneous stuff) aren't actually required to pass CT's inspection, I'd say if you know what you're doing, and know someone with a garage and some tools, you could fix this car up to pass inspection for less than $1500. Unfortunately, I do not have a garage, and I just need to get the car out of my landlord's driveway. My loss is your gain.

The good about the car:

Replaced clutch and flywheel in late 2018 at Firestone in Enfield.

Included with the car are a set of 4 OEM rims, 3 of them with good tires, 1 of them with a flat tire. The current wheels on the car are the same rims, OEM 17" with
215/50R-17 FIRESTONE FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL INDY 500 XL (Summers, but they'll work in the cold if you're brave enough) tires in half decent condition. They might be SUMITOMO HTR A/S P02's, I don't remember which one's are on the car at the moment.

Also included is a set of front and rear brake rotors and pads, in traditional "I'll get to it eventually" fashion.

Also included are two exhaust pipes, BOSAL 750561, and BOSAL 0961741. These need replacement a while ago, but since I don't have a garage, never got around to finishing the installation. Those sections are currently missing from the exhaust, so it sounds very much like a faster car than it is.

The car runs great, other than the exhaust noise. Interior could use a cleaning, which I might do at some point this week just to get my stuff out of it.

Oh, airbag light is on; the airbag clockspring in the steering wheel needs to be replaced or repaired. Years ago I must've hit the horn too hard, I'm not exactly sure what happened, but suffice it to say I did not look into it. They're only $50 (part # SKP SK525031), easy to do.

Great as a first car, especially if you want a forgiving clutch that can take a beating from someone learning, and if your kid wants a car that looks and sounds fast, without being too dangerous.

Price is negotiable, I'm certainly motivated to get this thing out of my landlord's driveway.
