Used 2006 Ford E150 Passenger Van - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... for sale in Milo, IA
Vehicle Description
This van has relatively low mileage for its age due to being owned by the U of I prior to when we bought it. However, it has been through 14 Iowa winters, and has rust. Occasionally at interstate speeds there was some vibration in the front end, though I never had the issue diagnosed.
This van has a 4R70W automatic transmission. Overdrive is currently NOT functional. When reaching ~45 MPH, the vehicle feels like it slips into neutral. You must wait for it to downshift, move the selector to 2 to keep going, or keep the speed low to keep it from going into overdrive. I attempted to fix it this summer, and replaced the following parts:
Transmission Control Sensor
Manual Shaft
Transmission Check Valve Balls
Shift Solenoids
The overdrive servo and snap ring are intact (a common cause of the neutral slippage issue mentioned above is a broken snap ring), so my guess is that it's the overdrive band. I do not have the time, money, nor equipment to dig further into the transmission, so it's time to sell this van.
