The time has come to part ways with my beloved E60 M5.
In 2017, I went to Gaithersburg, MD to purchase the car from a friend of a friend. It had 104,000 miles when I bought it.

The previous owner did tons of preventative maintenance, most notably having the engine replaced at 85,000 miles. The engine came from S85 specialist Troy Jeup in Michigan. He has built over 500 S85 V10's, and they're in cars all around the globe. He does base 5.0L builds to some incredible 6.0L stroker motors, and everything in between.

My car has the base 5.0L V10, producing the stock power output of 507hp. However, every engine Troy builds is fitted with a race-hardened crankshaft & rod bearings, to prevent the nasty bearing wear that causes these engines significant problems at high mileage. My engine currently has about 55,000 miles. The previous owner had all work performed at Prestige Automotive Solutions in Gaithersburg, MD, and all service records are present since new. The PO notably also replaced the SMG pump, and many other things - I will update with a comprehensive list when I have the records in front of me.

During my ownership of the car, I had to replace the clutch, throttle and idle actuators, ignition coils, clutch position sensor, and a few more things - I will update with a comprehensive list.

There is some small cosmetic damage, a scrape and small dent on the front driver's side fender, a few rock chips here and there, the driver's side mirror mechanism is broken and does not stop at the correct position when unfolding. Mechanically, this car is in great condition. I work at BMW of Santa Barbara and have most of the maintenance and repairs done here, by our authorized BMW Service Department, so everything is done right. Occasionally I take it to Granny's garage, who are more than competent at working on this beast. Before my move to Santa Barbara, I had the car serviced and repaired at Autobahn Automotive in Santa Rosa, CA.
