Used 2005 Subaru Outback XT Limited for sale in milwaukee, WI
Vehicle Description
An uncommon car that will get you street cred from Subaru boys as well as the folks at the state park. In fact, Doug DeMuro even wrote an article about it.
I’ve had the car for about two years now, am the third owner, and it just crawled past 146,000 miles.
The Pros:
No rust
New OEM driveshaft about 8,000 miles ago
New rear brakes, rotors, calipers, the whole shebang about 10,000 miles ago
New tires maybe 6,000 miles ago (I’ve got receipts for this stuff. I can double check on miles when I get a chance)
Super clean interior
Pretty clean exterior
Nice handling - corners well for a big wagon
250ish hp makes it almost quick
Momo steering wheel (boy racer swag)
Its AWD will get through any snow bank you drive it at (No joke, you could replace Santa’s reindeer with this bad boy)
You can carry a ton of groceries
It’s got like half a tank of gas
6 disk cd changer with some random cds I’ll let you keep
The Cons:
Few door dings here and there. It’s been living its life in the city for the past few years.
I installed an fm overriding aux input. It’s nice for listening to your own music. Passenger side speakers don’t work when it aux is plugged in. They work for cds though. Likely just a crappy soldering job. My bad.
Sounds like a bushing went bad.
To my knowledge - timing belt hasn’t been changed. Probably something coming up based on the miles.
Overall a solid car. No dash lights, oil changed every 3,000 miles. It ought to have quite a bit of life left in it if you continue to take care of it.
I’ve seen higher mileage examples of these Outback XTs go for a lot more. There are only a few for sale in the Midwest, too. Because of the upcoming maintenance, I think price is fair.
