1.8 4-cylinder Turbo Engine with Auto Transmission has 153,400 miles

Winter tires from Discount Tire - all four have 8/32 tread remaining = 50% used
Air Conditioner does not work; has been checked and needs new compressor
New parts and services:
New brakes - rotors and pads in 08/2018, about 6,000 miles ago
New front axle / wheel bearings and tie rods; cost was $1,900 at Brakes Plus
Brake lines were bled with DOT 4 fluid
4-wheel alignment
Recent transmission service from Zak's in Longmont;
New Knock Sensor
New Timing Belt and Water Pump in 2014, about 35,000 miles ago
Radiator fluid - full flush and refill 50/50
Odometer is the actual mileage in the Passat
Gold Color Exterior
Sunroof works normally and does not leak.
Tan Interior has Leather seats in good condition.
Rear cargo area extendable privacy cover
Have the factory User’s Guide manual for this model
All axle shaft rubber flex boots are in good shape since all four axles were replaced.
Windshield has one minor chip high and mostly out of view on far passenger side
Always changed using synthetic hi-mileage oil with either K & N or Mobile 1 filters.
Transmission fluid drained and refilled annually using the VW Pentosin ATF.
The transmission pan was pulled, and the filter was changed May 2019.
Four new spark plug coils and plugs replaced in May 2019
Reusable air cleaner element - like a K & N filter
New fuel pressure regulator.
Clear title and good smog test so you can easily get your own title on this Passat.
Have a VIN CHECK report available for review: no accident, collision, rebuild, etc.
The Bad
- THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS BEEN DENTED - PLEASE SEE PICTURES
The Passat was backed into while parked and they dented the driver's door as shown.
The driver's window does not want go down fully.
At about 1.5 inches of glass showing, there is a clunk where the regulator hits the bottom.
The window track inside the door has been bent out of alignment.
It will go all the way down.
I've thought it might get stuck down althought this has never happened .
We've lived with this since the backing-into event. It's always been able to close up.
No wind noise problems. No water leaks going through power wash at Breeze Through in Longmont
The car has automatic up and automatic down windows buttons.
The driver's side REAR window has a sensor that's not quite right when raising the window.
The window will go all the way up and then think there is an obstruction, so it lowers again.
The second try to raise the window usually closes up normally. A sensor problem we've lived with.
The transmission has a strange shift going from second into third gear.
It slides into third gear as seems though it has trouble making a clean & crisp connection.
If you are pedal-to-the-metal, hard accelerating then it bumps into third.
This seems to not happen when you use the shifter and manually move from 1st to 2nd and into 3rd.
We have had three shops look at the transmission.
Most recently Zak's in Longmont. I have that diagnosis report available.
Each shop told us that the unit needs to be removed & rebuilt at a cost greater than the value of the Passat
We've driven it for a several thousand miles without a problem - we just take it easy when accelerating.
After all, this is a wagon not a sports car...
The exhaust pipe flex joint has a minor exhaust leak.
I made a patch using JB Weld putty that has held up for many thousands of miles but now leaks a bit again.
You can hear it when idling or driving slowly. Cannot hear when driving at-speed.
There are several exterior scratches or minor dings in the bumper from being a student's vehicle.
Only real damage is the driver's door impact aout which we never found out the who or the how of it.
It just appeared there one day. An obvious backing into at a 90 degrees angle when parked.
The air conditioner compressor has a failed o-ring in the back of it and needs to be replaced.
I had the unit evaluated at Brakes Plus in Longmont to determine this.
This car was used by my daughter out of state while at school in Idaho.
She's now back, has a new job, a new apartment in Broomfield, and driving a newer car.
We put Discount Tire winter radials on for her while in Idaho and these are now about half used treads.
Tires are in great condition and ready for your upcoming winter here in Colorado.
The car occasionally gets a check engine light - a *minor evap leak* - and the dashboard gas cap light comes on.
After she returned to Colorado, I replaced the gas cap and do not get the check engine light again.
As mentioned above, I have a recent smog check doc for getting this titled & licensed.
We are selling this because the daughter now has her own car of choice. We have enough cars.
This is in good running condition and has served us well for a lot of miles.
It's All Wheel Drive and good winter tires have made it a stable and dependable car for my daughter.
The asking price of $2,500 price is less than the *average value* of the car and reflects the wheel bearings, axles, brakes, and tires.
