-Power tilt/slide sunroof works with no leaks
-All 4 tires changed in 2018, only about 10k miles since then
-Thermostat and water pump replaced in 2018 at CDI in Victor
-All 4 brakes, discs and rotors replaced in 2019 at CDI in Victor
-Front CV boots replaced in 2019 at CDI in Victor
-OEM all-weather floor mats included, specifically fit to this model. Normal carpet floor mats also included.
-Full size spare wheel, jack/tire iron kit onboard
-Full synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles; always fueled with premium 93 octane gasoline
-VW has used the same parts across many models for many years--parts are pretty readily available and not that expensive--no BMW prices here
THE BAD/THE UGLY:
-Moderate cosmetic wear; never hit, normal bumps & scrapes. Some paint chipping on front bumper from highway
-TPMS does not always chime; however, with P195/65R15 tires, it's pretty easy to tell if you need air visually
-Front seats have manual adjustments--only a convenience thing
-Built-in garage door opener does not work
-Driver side mirror glass fell off and was successfully replaced with a mirror that isn't quite a perfect fit
We've owned an older BMW, a newer Audi, and this VW. Among all of them, this car has been the cheapest to maintain and the most reliable by far. Volkswagen is German for "People's Car," and they really are cars for everyday people. You get the comfort, quality, and performance of German engineering without the superfluous luxury finish.
