BACKGROUND:

Sold new on January 20th of 2004 by Loeber Mercedes-Benz of Lincolnwood-IL, this CLK500 was relocated that same year to Naples-FL when its semi-retired owner began to trade harsh IL winters with sunny Florida days instead. This is confirmed by the clean Carfax, which shows the vehicle registration change to Florida on July of 2004.

Not long after relocating to Florida, the vehicle caught the attention of its owner's neighbour and fellow MBCA member (also a "snowbird" from IL), who purchased it and shipped back and forth between his winter condo in FL and summer home in IL.

The vehicle continued to be maintained by Mercedes-Benz of Naples-FL in the winter, or Mercedes-Benz of Naperville-IL in the summer and it remained with its second owner for the next seven years until it was sold to its third MBCA enthusiast.

Also a native if IL but fully retired in Naples-FL, this third owner would continued to preserve his CLK500 with the help of Mercedes-Benz of Naples and European Motors of Naples.

The car was a "regular" at every MBCA meeting or car show for the following 9 years until recently, when its owner decided to downsize his collection.

MECHANICAL CONDITION:

Everything works as it should; from its powerful 5.0 V-8 engine and reliable transmission to its freezing cold AC and factory rear window electric shade.

The car was in fantastic shape when we acquired it, needing hardly any reconditioning. That said, the vehicle was taken to Prestige Mercedes in Fort Myers-FL, where it received a complete inspection and preventive service to maximize its reliability and performance in preparation for a new owner. (Receipts for this work, as well as service records thru ought the live of this vehicle available to serious buyers.).

This service was completed in August of 2020 and it included new fluids, factory air and oil filters, new crank positioner sensor, new rotors and pads, new Michelin Pilor SuperSport tires and more.

COSMETICS:

Glossy factory Brilliant Silver paint. Front and rear bumpers are perfect and are original to the vehicle, still displaying the embossed "AMG" markings as part of the factory Sport Package. Panel gaps are uniform and show no signs of repairs, which is consistent with the perfect Carfax report, showing no issues through the life of the vehicle.

Utterly clean interior. Wood and dashboard are crack/stain free and so are the carpets. Seats show virtually no wear, other than minor wrinkles on the driver seat. No cracks, splits or fading are present on the leather, which remains soft and supple. Leather shows its original color and there are no signs of it being dyed in the past.

A new factory headliner was installed in preparation for the sale.

The trunk is clean and free of scratches. Factory spare tire and tool kit are still present under the trunk tray.

No leaks are present under the body; this is confirmed even after leaving the car parked inside our office for a couple of weeks without it being moved.

Engine bay is very clean and original.
