2004 Honda Accord EX
208,000 miles
The car was in an accident where it was rear ended and pushed into the car in front. The insurance company claimed it was a total loss as the value of the damage was more than 75% of the value of the car. I kept the car and had someone just straighten out some panels to keep it driving. The only thing replaced was the drivers side headlight. Airbags were never deployed. The paint and body panels are still all original.
Title remains clear and in my name. However, the damage disclosure section will be checked HAS BEEN damaged beyond 75% of the value. Buyer must have valid ID and sign the buyers section of title.
Car is being sold as SALVAGE for parts.
You will NOT be able to register or drive the car until it's fixed and passes salvage inspection. I do not know what's involved in that process.
PROS:
- K24 Engine and transmission work great (no check engine light)
- Brand new drivers side axle installed last month
- Two brand new YOKOHAMA tires just installed last week on rear
- Last year had the alternator and battery replaced (DENSO and INTERSTATE)
- Last summer A/C was completely redone with many new parts and works perfect.
- Radio and all other electrics work perfect
- Nice charcoal interior
CONS:
- Accident damage obviously
- Steering wheel has shimmy left and right and makes a clunking noise over bumps. Possibly worn lower control arm bushings.
- Front tires will need to be replaced.
- An aftermarket element front engine mount was installed last year but its too stiff and car vibrates when stopped at lights.
