The van has been great for us, we just don’t use it very much anymore.
I bought the van about five years ago to replace the vanagon that I had for ten years. I bought this van because it’s the closest thing I could find to my old vanagon, but with the safety features and better power(200hp VR6) that I wanted and needed for our family.
Our vanagon was our adventure vehicle and this was the replacement.
Since I bought it, I have replaced the power steering pump, tie rod assembly, antenna mast. While the tie rod assembly was replaced, a safety inspection was also performed. I have added all weather floor mats to the front and rear, installed a leather steering wheel cover, and wind deflectors on the front windows, nice vinyl seat covers(look and feel very similar to leather). I put in a reusable k&n air filter. I put correct European load rated tires on it. I added an extra usb charging port in the front. There are two 12 volt sockets on the rear bench seat and one in the far back, so there is no shortage of power.
Oil changes have been performed on time.
Known issues:
There’s is a very small oil leak. I just have a piece of cardboard under the van where I park. It’s had a few drops in the last 4 months that you can see when you test drive it, but there is no visible oil loss on the dipstick.
The controls for the power mirrors doesn’t work. I have never taken the door panel off to investigate, maybe it’s just a loose plug. I set them when I bought the van by hand and haven’t moved them since, so it doesn’t bother me.
The reason for the sale is that we simply don’t use it very often.
We have upgraded our adventure vehicle to a sprinter motor home, and the van spends most of its life in the garage.
I will take it out occasionally for errands around town, maybe out to Anacortes, just to keep fluids moving. In reality we are putting maybe 3000 miles a year on it at the most.
This van should really belong to someone who can have fun in it.
Price is firm, I don’t NEED to sell this van, and I am not infinancial strain.
Approx 196,xxx miles. We will continue to use the van occasionally up until it’s sold, so the actual mileage will change.
