This is a truck with an SUV body and it is tough and reliable.
I have owned this car for two and a half years, and the previous owner did a pre-emptive 100,000 mile service to it and replaced a lot of parts, belts, etc. It does have a rebuilt/salvage title as he bought it in 2007 when it was totaled by an insurance company after the original owner crashed, and he rebuilt it and used as his personal daily driver in an urban area until I bought it in 2018. I had it inspected by a mechanic before I bought it and he said it was the best cared for Trailblazer he had ever seen. The car lived in Arizona until 2019 so no damage from harsh winters. It has been perfectly reliable with routine maintenance and well-cared for with maintenance records available. In June I got it inspected by a mechanic before a road trip and all he could find to do was replace a few lightbulbs. This car is SO reliable.
During the recent windstorm, a tree killed by the fire was uprooted and blown onto the freeway, resulting in a crash causing the body damage seen in the photos. The front bumper and grille need to be replaced, the front headlight is in the car and can be reattached. The fender, rear quarter panel, rear bumper and rear cargo area window also need to be replaced. The two driver side doors are scratched but fully functional, though the driver door doesn't open all the way with the current damage to the fender. The passenger side is totally fine apart from minor scratches. Again, it still runs and drives perfectly, I drove it home after the accident and a few trips into town after that.
I love this car and I seriously considered fixing it, since I believe it will go another 100,000 miles. It breaks my heart to let her go, but I also lost my trailer in the Almeda fire and I have decided to leave the area. I'm hoping to find someone who can bring her back and enjoy her as much as I did, while trying to recoup some of the massive loss of this year. At $2000 this is a great option for someone willing to put in the work.
