I recently bought this Boxster in California and drove it 5,000 trouble-free miles home. Now I'm hooked and looking to purchase a 911. This is a turn-key, get in and blast around car. It needs no work. It didn't leak or use a drop of any fluid on the whole trip.
Driving this puts a smile on my face every time. If you are not familiar with Boxsters, please research the differences between a base car and a Boxster S. Plus, this was a California car it's whole life, so there is no rust or corrosion to deal with.
Everything works as it should including the power top, power windows, heated seats, and AC. Well, the cruise isn't working since the throttle body upgrade :-(
It has 18" Turbo Twist wheels.
It has had a ton of maintenance done to it and I have some records. At 96k it had $1,800 worth of new rotors, pads, etc. According to Carfax at 82k miles it had a new clutch, flywheel, RMS, and I assume the IMS bearing done. Speaking of Carfax, the report shows it was at the Porsche dealer every 5k miles or so. Plus I have records for a lot of other stuff.
It has a few performance modifications as well; custom exhaust (sounds wonderful), short shift kit, Cayman throttle body, strut bars, etc.

If you want a perfect Porsche you'll have to stop by the dealer and spend $80k. If you want a very nice Porsche with minor cosmetic wear bring $11k my way :-)
The NY title is clean and in my name. Sorry, no test drives without cash in hand. If you want a PPI done, I will bring it to New Country Porsche. Or come to my shop and look at it (I have a lift). I will not bring it to "your guy".
Lastly, if you spend your days reading internet forums and the IMS thing keeps you up at night, just have it done (again)! It's a $1500-$2,000 job. Consider it maintenance, which these cars need. If you can't afford Porsche maintenance, you shouldn't own a Porsche. It affects 1%-5% of the cars, mostly low mileage garage queens. I didn't worry about it for 5,000 wonderful miles, and I don't worry about it now.
