In addition to that, the PT needs some repairs to pass PA inspection; one engine cradle and the mounts need to be replaced. [NOTE: Current PA inspection sticker expires 10/31/19.] The repair estimate from Karch Auto is $1,094.15, and we can't justify that expense on a car we no longer need, so we have lowered our asking price well below the $3,000 to $4,000 suggested by Edmunds and Autotrader for a similar car with fewer than 100,000 miles on it.
Regardless of the needed repairs, no other malfunction or problem with the vehicle is known. The finish still shines, floor mats were always used, and the tires are in greatest shape possible. All four of them are General Altimax Artic winter treads [that's winter tread, not snow tire tread] meaning you can go almost anywhere in the snow -- or possibly also in a muddy football game parking lot. Two tires have about 7,000 miles on them, and the other two have fewer than 16,000 miles.
The CarFax report (available online) shows the only significant repair history to be replacement of the transaxle and transmission shift solenoid in 2005, before we bought it.
Yes, this PT has had five previous fairly short-term owners, but I don't know why any of them sold it, because we've loved it dearly for the past 13 years.
Oh, one last thing. Its color is not gray, it’s taupe (that’s gray with a cast of brown).
