Vehicle Description
Runs smooth, very reliable, easy to drive
Tow package, 3.73 gearing, towing mirrors, 4x4, automatic 4 speed 4L60E tranny, Fox 2.0 shocks all around, plastic bed liner, 285 off road tires on black steel wheels.
Back up camera and dash camera integrated into rear view mirror. Cameras are motion activated even when the truck is off to capture any theft attempts.
Alpine stereo with Bluetooth / CD, cell phone holder, upgraded speakers, aftermarket amplifier behind rear seat
I've owned it for the past 4 years and have replaced the following
Front and rear brakes, water pump, radiator, shocks, tail shaft seal, oil changes and tire rotations every 3K miles, rear bumper, fuel filter, steering bushing, 7 pin connector, AC switch. I have all the service records from the past 4 years. Always had a safety check done by Chandler Automotive before a camping trip.
Used as a daily driver, hauling bikes and also towing a 4,000 lb camping trailer 2-3 times a year.
Interior is in great shape, very comfortable. Comes with Covercraft rear seat cover.
Both front bucket seats have full electric adjust.
Heat and AC work great
Ugly chrome plastic door molding removed
Passes smog every time without issue. Has not been smogged in the last 90 days
Cons:
Right side view mirror broke when I backed up into a telephone pole last week. The main glass is good and taped back on. The domed bottom mirror is broken. ($50 to replace)
Body control module has a parasitic battery draw and will kill the battery if it's not driven in 4 days. I have a battery quick disconnect switch under the hood that I use when I'm not going to used it for a few days. ($100 for replacement BCM on ebay)
Fuel gage is often incorrect. I use the odometer and make sure the fill up when I reach 240 miles on full tank. This is a common issue with gage stepper motors / solder on this generation GM truck. Replacement gages or stepper motors available for ($30-$100 on ebay)
Clear coat peeling on hood, roof and part of front bumper.
Some bubbling rust near the brake light on the roof rear. Otherwise very little rust.
