Used 2001 Buick Regal LS for sale in Columbia, SC

Vehicle Description

SOLD ! Many thanks to the guy who drove down from North Carolina. The car is now gone !

Be on the lookout for a 2014 Challenger with less than 64K miles. That's the next car. The first $12,000 gets that car. Not a typo. It has a fair market value of $16,324. I am selling the Challenger at a FIRM price to account for whatever "blemishes" one can find with that car. A great driver, a great looker, and my son no longer needs it.
$1,500 or best reasonable offer. Since April 28th, Wednesday, when I first posted this, I have received over 50 inquiries. Please read the entire listing. If you are a CL car flipper, please do not waste our time.

I have well over $1,500 in car parts over the last year or less. The car drives great and looks good. There is a small dent which has not damaged the paint on the passenger fender and the paint is fading as pictured on the passenger side. For a 20 year old car, it is a great daily driver. For 20 years old, it is not absolutely perfect. I do not need any help selling this car. I am not interested in any trades. No partial payments, no down payments, no deposits. Only accepting cash. If you come to lowball the car, please save your time since you will go home empty handed. I could have listed the car for a lot more and just accepted $1,500. I can always take the car off the insurance policy and it can sit. I really prefer to sell it as it is a nice, dependable car. My time is just as important as yours. If I paid someone to do all the work I have done, it would be well over $5,000 in labor. I mention this since I am getting bombarded by car flippers as well as regular, interested buyers. As for the flippers, please do not waste our time.

2001 Buick Regal LS as pictured. Car has 190K miles. I have owned this car since August 2012 and only drove it locally until November 2016. From November 2016 until December 2019, I routinely drove this car to northern Virginia, slightly over 400 miles each way. It still gets around 27 mpg highway.

The car is incredibly well maintained and I have all the receipts which I will provide to the Buyer if wanted. The car has ice cold A/C, which was replaced around two years ago.

The entire front and rear suspension was rebuilt, to include new struts on all four corners, new lower control arms, new inner and outer tie rods, new rack and pinion steering, new upgraded sway bar, new rear links, new hubs, new half axles, et cet. You can visually inspect and see the new parts. It has new headlights. It has a new fuel sender. The list goes on and on. No leaks and no oil drips in your driveway. However, you will need to do the normal maintenance which includes new tranny pan, filter, and gasket at 200K miles. I already have those parts and they come with the car.

A vast majority of this work was done less than a year ago because I thought I was headed back on the road. Because of COVID, I no longer need this car as well as two others as my adult children bought their own cars, so be on the lookout for a Challenger and a Jeep. In other words, I am selling off at least three cars in the upcoming months.

The interior is incredibly minty for a 20 year old car. The car has newer tires as pictured with slotted and drilled rotors. I got the rotors and pads at a steal of a deal. They originally listed for well over $500.00.

This car has been super dependable and all the "common" issues with GM platforms have been repaired, e.g., upper plenum gasket, O2 sensors, window regulators, et cet. I have done all the work myself and maintenance over the years. I have a new transmission pan and gasket/filter kit for the 200K service as you are supposed to replace those. I have new rear trailing arms which I need to install or the buyer can. I have the lifetime alignment deal at Firestone so I will get one last alignment if I install this weekend.

Comes with a new radiator and a small tub of new or replacement parts, e.g., bulbs, gaskets, et cet. I installed a new radiator, upper and lower hoses, thermostat, et cet., less than a year ago but a few of the fins on the radiator were dented-in which was solely cosmetic. I provided a poor rating on E B A Y and the seller sent me a brand new one to change the rating. The extra radiator comes with the car.

Tires are somewhat new - please look at the picture . The oil and oil filter was just changed. The 200K service, which is around 10K miles away is the serpentine belt, tranny fluid /filter and pan, and tune-up. I did the plugs and wires every 50K, so it should get new plugs and wires as well, assuming you maintain a regular maintenance program with your cars.

I got the car with under 80K on the clock. So, going on 120K trouble free miles since August 2012 in a car which is a great highway cruiser, still gets respectable mileage, and still should have a lot of life left in it if you take care of the car.

Here is what I know about the car, that is, for being a 20 year old car and this is based upon nine (9) years of ownership:

1. There is a "service engine soon" light on, which has been on since 2012. It has never affected anything in over 100K miles. I replaced a handful of sensors which did nothing. I have one last sensor which I will eventually get to. The sensor is located topside and somewhat easy to get to.

2. The instrument cluster has three resisters in it which I replaced around five or six years ago. Very simple operation and this is a very common GM issue. There is a YouTube video on it and how to fix it. The symptoms are no cluster lights at night. It is off and on, so I have not taken the time to swap them out. It just started a few weeks ago. I bought the resisters at Radio Shack before they closed all of their stores. I think I have a few left, but I suggest replacing all three just like I did. I am assuming this is a maintenance type of deal every so many years.

3. The car has the upgraded driver seat which is like new, but I need to or should have installed the airbag in the upper cushion as the current seat did not come this way. This is a simple operation. I just installed a newer interior at the time I was told I would not be returning to a normal work setting but now working from home. That is why the car has a newer interior.

4. I have two key fobs. One key is a little off so it will need to be re-cut or replaced. However, the fobs and electric door locks work great. I think the fob batteries are getting a little weak since they used to work over a very long distance.

If I go ahead and repair all of the above, I plan on raising the price. Otherwise, this car is in great shape. Therefore, if you want to come and try to use the above as bargaining or negotiating points to lower the price you are wasting your time. I priced the car to sell it quickly "AS IS" - "WHERE IS".

My insurance renews the end of June 2021 so I have a few months to sell it. The car is legally tagged and insured, and local test drives are fine. You will need to bring your drivers license if you want a test drive. If you don't have a drivers license or don't want to show it , then no test drives. Simple as that.
