Vehicle Description
This Subaru Forester has been in my family for more than a decade. It was driven by a family member during that time, who recently bought another vehicle. The Subaru was given back to me, and I went through the car to identify all needed service. I found that the car had a motor tick, which was due to a partially burned cylinder head valve, so
I removed the motor for in-depth inspection and maintenance. I replaced the cylinder heads with newly remanufactured stock (OEM) Subaru cylinder heads I bought from SuperRepair in Boulder, installed new SixStar head gaskets, and all new (OEM) Subaru timing components including the timing belt, idler pulleys, camshaft and crankshaft seals, and timing belt tensioner components. While the motor was out of the car, I installed a new rear seal, and had the transmission removed, disassembled, rebuilt, and reinstalled with a new remanufactured torque converter by a certified transmission facility. I put new brakes on the rear wheels, and had the brakes bled by a Subaru service facility. The engine was reinstalled with a new synthetic oil change, new Subaru coolant. The car has new Toyo tires on newer OEM Subaru wheels (not shown in the photos), a new ignition coil, and misc parts including a airbag clock spring, digital clock, etc. etc. etc. Also a brand new Diehard battery with a 3 yr warranty from Advance Auto Parts ($180). The original wheels and tires shown in the photos also go with the car.
Subarus run forever, and the older non-turbo models in particular.
The body is not perfect, but it looks good for its age. Same with the interior.
