2020 brand new bumpers (front and rear)
Replaced sliding door on passenger side for one with a window that opens
Two 100w solar panels from “Goal Zero” that route through the roof into the van, fully sealed and waterproof
Maxxair Maxxfan Deluxe, fully installed and routed, cools down inside of the van and reverses air flow to air out van when cooking or sleeping
Interior:
Original driver/passenger seats
Floor:
-Havelock Wool Insulation
-Plywood subfloor
-Waterproof vinyl exterior floor
Walls:
-Havelock wool insulation
-Treated and stained plywood walls (and ceiling)
Kitchen:
-Treated and stained (waterproof) Hardwood countertop with a hand made copper sink from Mexico inlaid. Working foot pump sink with a clean water/grey water system
-One large storage space with 3 levels of shelving
-Propane tank cabinet that can hook up to a stove or gas heater
Bed:
-Ikea futon with sliding plywood installed on the bottom to switch from couch to twin bed
You will need to acquire a lithium battery that can store energy from the solar panels as we have opted to keep ours. We were using the “Yeti 1000” by Goal Zero. We loved this battery and have a lot of great things to say about it
History:
This van was originally owned by a contractor in southern california from 99’ to 2016. He operated within a 25 mile radius and had it serviced often.
It was then sold to a family friend who ultimately ended up having it sit in his driveway until we purchased it in 2018.
Current status:
We put a lot of time and energy into this build and ultimately created something we really love and are happy with. But for now we feel focused on other projects and pursuits and our reason for selling is more that we feel the van could serve someone who would appreciate it and use it.
Since September, we have made a few substantial repairs (included above) to get the van in working condition. *Unfortunately, it is not in working condition at the moment. *
This van would best serve someone looking to live it in and plop it on to some land as a tiny home stay. Or to a savvy mechanic looking for a fun project to get working again.
