Used 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4 0L Sport for sale in Blairstown, NJ
Vehicle Description
I bought this Jeep back in September and spent a lot of time and money into fixing it up. I used it as my daily driver since then. I hate to sell it, but I need to get a truck.
The engine runs great. In December, I completely rebuilt the 4.0L head. No previous issues prompted this rebuild, other than common wear & tear. I had the time so I thought I would do it. The piston walls & rings even look amazing, still has tons of crosshatching.
Jeep got recently inspected in February.
4WD works great. Used it a bunch this winter.
Body has less rust than most Jeeps of the same age. Most of the rust could be pretty easily sanded and repainted. No other body issues that I am aware of.
Bestop Soft top is in amazing shape except for the passenger side zipper. These soft tops are insane quality, so you could get it resew if you wanted to. Price reflects.
I never used the back seat, but I do have it. Its in perfect condition because the previous owner never used it either.

Things that could be done
- Back brakes
- E-brake does not work; have to park in gear.
- Jeep rolls if parked in gear on a very steep hill.
- Wheel Bearings. I have, and will include, x2 new, in box, Timken Wheel Bearings
- Stereo is a JBL, but I never use it so I unhooked it when I bought the jeep, but it still, to the best of my knowledge, works and Ill even include the subwoofer.
- Airbag light has been on since Ive bought it, and the horn doesn't work, meaning the clock spring could be replaced.
