Motor AHU -1Z 1.9 L
Mileage: technically over 200K (237605) but mostly recently rebuilt/renewed.
Originally a Georgia car never seen salt and has no rust.
Gets 45 MPG
1997 Jetta recent work/parts within last 5k miles or so:
(1) Diesel injection pump (New old stock not rebuilt)
(2) Timing belt and water pump, head, rings pistons refreshed/rebuilt (MF auto)
(3) New windshield
(4) New (old stock not rebuilt) air conditioning pump
(5) Heater core
(6) Turbo controller
(7) New rear: shocks, spindle, bearings, all brake parts
(8) New front: bearings, drive-axle and new boots by Raxles. New struts, suspension bushings, steering boot, calipers, rotors and pads.
Note: The 1997 Jetta TDI comes with many back-up repair parts see pics, value of recent work and parts is higher than asking price, therefore; low ball offers will be ignored; only asking $ 4,900. I am an older seller that is retiring from collecting/restore hobby. Car is mostly mechanically restored but it will definitely need paint. Interior mostly in tact. Great stereo and speakers.

I bought this Passat as a one-owner, and he was a VW service manager in Georgia (neither car has never seen salt or has any rust). It runs good and has; new brakes, bearings, suspension and recent timing belt. OD Shows 194825. Asking $2,200 or will consider trading the Passat for a travel trailer, or get both the Jetta and the Passat together for $6,200
