A little history:

Purchased new thru Vigo Dodge in Indiana, this Sparkle Gold Viper GTS was delivered to its first and only owner on July 10th of 1997. "Sparkle Gold" trim was an option that included matte gold wheels along with matching Sneaky Pete emblems along the front fenders and it was only offered on Viper Red GTS cars (See Viper Registry link here; third table from the top ).

Only seven of these Vipers would ever be made and a brief internet research shows that the remaining six have either been modified, or accumulated lots of miles. One or two of the original seven cars also appear to have wrecked, which likely makes this the lowest mileage and most original Sparkle Gold GTS in existence.

You will not see another one like it again.

Shortly after after taking delivery of her new Viper, the owner shipped the vehicle to her home in Palm Beach, Florida; which is where the car remained stored, inside of an air conditioned facility until now.

Vehicle Condition:

Everything in this vehicle has been preserved inside a climate controled facility with very few miles driven within the past 22 years to preserve the functionality of all the systems on the car. Power windows, cold air conditioning and stereo (the only creature comforts of these early GTS examples) work as intended.

Cosmetically, this vehicle is virtually flawles with the exception of two scratches under the front bumper (see photos) and minor discoloration of the dash, which is typical of early Vipers. All factory clear stickers remain under the front buper and around the sideskirts. There are no signs of paint work anywhere and the ultra rare wheels show no pitting, scratches or curb rash whatsoever. The leather interior is flawless with a driver's seat that shows no wear on its bolsters and carpets that look as if nobody ever stepped on them.

Engine bay is free of dust and it preserves its "showroom" look while undercarriage is in as-new condition. No leaks detected under the car.

While this is a museum quality automobile thanks to its rarity, originality, mileage and condition, we also believe that these cars were built to annihilate the competition; both on the road and at the track. Accordingly, this Viper comes with fresh fluids and filters in addition to brand new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires per factory specifications. These new tires were installed on their ultra rare wheels on March 17th, of 2019. Wheels were balanced and alignment was found to be per factory specs (Original 1997 Michelin tires are included with the car, should the new owner want to store them. They look new and show no imperfections but they are for display purposes only).

The drive:

If you are familiar with early Vipers, you will know that they offer the most pure, raw and rewarding driving experiences for the money. These sensations will be maximized in this case as you will be in a virtually new car. **If you are NOT familiar with these on the other hand, PLEASE treat this vehicle with respect as it WILL cut its rear tires loose well into third gear. Allow yourself enough seat time to get acquainted with this beautiful beast before you push the limits. This car is exhilarating to drive but the infamous "Snake Bite" is no urban myth. Drive it within your own limits**

The engine's V-10 smooth growl explodes in response to a wide open throtle while the massive 335/35/17 PS2's in the rear struggle to grip as you're launched forward, focusing on keeping the Viper's nose straight while you shift your own gears to 2nd, 3rd ... all the way to 6th and before you know it, you will be deep into 3-digit speeds; faster than most new "fast cars".

Drive it around town and you will find the leather seats to be extremely comfortable, almost making you forget that you're in a super-car with powerful air conditioning and factory Alpine radio, which help in keeping things civilized. Drivers will give you thumbs up on the road, kids will stick their camera phones out of mom's SUVs. You should also be ready to talk about your Viper as soon as you step out of it at the local Cars & Coffee; remember that most car people dreamed about having one at some point but very few managed to get one.

Soon you will find that early Viper GTS ownership is one of the most rewarding classic car experiences for the money.
