A real head-turner! Tons of fun to drive around town. Reliable enough to drive regularly, repair a few things and it’ll be more than solid for another 100k plus.
Note: Although there isn’t anything functionally different on a Briarwood over other trim levels offered in the same years, there exists a premium for ‘woodie’ style Cherokees that remains strong, whether the earlier Cherokee Wagoneer Limited or the later Cherokee Briarwood (1991-1992). That is to say, please don’t waste your time trying to talk me down or explain why I’m overvaluing the rarity of the vehicle.
Mostly original OEM parts and in original condition, including the woodgrain, paint, interior, carpet all original.

1 st owner - Arizona - RV tow behind the vehicle for 85K (based on my memory of vehicle history)
2nd owner - Minnesota - purchased - 5-7 yrs ownership (garage kept, weekend use only)
Sold to auction company in early 2020
I purchase it from a dealer in South Dakota (2020). I have put less than 750 miles on it.
Work done by a local mechanic in MI: $1,400 - October 2020

NOTES:
- NO key fobs.
- NO Airbags - Not until 1995 in Jeep Cherokee.
- New aftermarket radio.
- Radiator - Non-OEM.
- Power locks all work but they stick.
- The rear main seal has a moderate leak, should be dropped, and the seal replaced. This is the most critical thing to note for long-term care of the vehicle.
- Driver side window brush guard cracked, small scratch on that window pane.
- Poorly done repair of the plastic panel on liftgate (see pics).
- The plastic trim piece that acts as the border on the woodgrain trim has been painted over the original color. The original trim always faded and most people either replaced these pieces (kits are easily available) or painted them a solid color. You’ll see solid black lines on the pictures above and below the exterior woodgrain.
- Horn doesn’t work - not diagnosed.
- Wiper Blades slow, no spray from washer- not diagnosed.
- Driver door does not stay in the open position on the hinge - a small fix.
- The back seat squeaks when going over bumps… Being honest so that I can scare away people that aren’t really interested. These are mostly small things (excluding the rear main seal noted above) that need to be addressed with any vehicle of this age, mileage, and upkeep.
These are all the known issues from me having owned the Jeep for less than a year. I want to be upfront about the issues to make sure that potential buyers are aware of the condition. It is ready to drive on day 1! Currently driving a few trips a week, milage may change a small amount.
