Fox body 5.0 fans know all about this car, if you are reading the ad, you are likely one of them. There was always something about the 5.0 LX. It wasn't as "in your face" as the GT model, it was used by various Highway Patrol units around the country as a speed demon in its SSP (Special Service Package) get up, it had a higher top speed (155MPH), and it just looked CLEAN and MEAN.
This particular car has escaped the hands of the shade tree mechanic who would tear parts off and replace them with the flavor of the month exhaust/intake/superchargers/suspension mods/brake kits/blah blah blah. It is BONE STOCK. Yes the 49,146 shown in the pictures is actual and reflected on a clean PA title. Starts right up and runs just like 1988. I've put about 100 miles on the car since we purchased it and would drive it anywhere. While we were inspecting it at the shop, the following was done to the car:
-Fresh oil change
-New rear brakes and rear wheel cylinders
-New headlights including corner and marker lights
-New 1/4 window motor gears (work perfectly and be glad you didn't have to do it!)
-Fresh pin striping
-Full detail
-New seat belt bezels
The original white parade boot is in its original black case with instructions. The white interior of this car is fantastic. Some of the blue plastic has faded with time, an aftermarket armrest/cupholder was added by the previous owner, as well as a new head unit. Only knock on the car is the paint quality, it was redone on the drivers' side but it is lifting in a few places, there is also a spot under the passenger side mirror but you have to be on the ground to see it. Ten feet it is a stunner! The blue with white gut, white power top, and the factory correct white pin stripe is a traffic stopping combination.
These 5.0 Fox's are climbing in value. Get in on the low side, drive it for a decade or two and make a profit! No brainer. Reliable and easy to repair vehicle with a whole community of fans that can help you fix anything and show you where to get the plentiful parts at reasonable prices.
