Vehicle Description
Gen 1 M5 for sale. 147k miles. Survivor car, overall very good condition. Good paint, no rust, crack free dash. I have owned the car about 8 years. The previous owner had it for 10 years. It has been garaged most of its life. I have records & receipts going back to around 2000. There are records going back prior to that in a written format by the first and second owners.
Car has some minor issues, listed in order of decreasing severity:
AC not working.
Interior could use some work to look new. Some minor fading and stitching issues. Its original, no work has been done to it.
Rear bumper trim pieces painted gloss instead of satin.
Aftermarket shift knob kind of sucks.
Drivers side B pillar trim inside is damaged and should be replaced.
Hood squeaks when driving over bumps.
And some positives:
$5k+ of work done in the last hundred miles: Factory radiator replacement, major tune up, all new front suspension, bearings, brakes. Smogged, inspected, and aligned 2 weeks ago. Registered. Paint looks great.
The car is on 18” M parallel wheels which I recently installed. This was a lot of work, these wheels come in several widths and offsets and I had to go through a few iterations to find the right combo. I do not have the original wheels. They are available online for $1k-$1500. I do have a set of period correct aftermarket 16” Borbets, included. These are the wheels you would have bought in the early 90s if you wanted to make this car stand out. See pics.
Trades welcome. Ideally I would like to trade for a 356 project or a 911. Interesting trades always welcome. Cash can go either way depending on the trade.
One last note: this car is an original sports car that is 31 years old. It’s in very good original condition, but it’s not perfect.
