Used 1985 Chevrolet Pickup half ton 4WD for sale in Elkins, WV
Vehicle Description
Truck is a 1985 body on a 1978 chassis. Titled as a 1985, but has the thicker and more desirable 1970s frame.
Absolutely rust-free southern body. Frame is solid, has been wire-brushed and coated with rust-inhibiting paint. New springs provide a firm ride. New cab mounts and shackles. New bumpers and grille. Nothing underneath is rusty/crusty.
Crate 350 engine with only 2,500 miles (remanned engine from Fred Bean Co. in PA). Runs well, makes great oil pressure. New valve covers and oil pan. Intake, Q-jet carb, exhaust manifolds, and most accessories re-used from the previous engine. Carb was rebuilt last year (only about 1,000 miles since re-build). Fuel pump, starter, and power steering hoses all new since the engine was swapped. Exhaust system is all new (except manifolds).
Older TH350 transmission (mileage unknown). Leaks a little fluid. Torque converter thumps a little when idling in gear, but transmission runs and shifts well and does not slip.
4WD works as it should in both high and low range. Manual locking hubs.
I'm pretty sure the paint is original. It has a few scratches and touch-ups, but overall is in great shape for its age.
You can't tell because of the bed liner, but the inside of the bed is nearly pristine - no dents, scratches, or rust. That's why I put in the bed liner.
Interior is in excellent condition for its age. Dash has a few small cracks, there is one very small hole in the vinyl of the seat, and the driver's side armrest has a small crack. Carpet is new.
Tires are about 3 years old but only have a few thousand miles on them. New spare.
Inspection sticker is good through June 2020.
Windshield has a crack near the edge on the driver's side. It doesn't interfere with driving, but the windshield likely will need to be replaced prior to the next inspection.
