Used 1984 Mercedes Benz 280 SL R107 European Model for sale in Gig Harbor, WA
Vehicle Description
The car has original paint, with one split on the dashboard. I put in new shocks, and new stainless steel exhaust system aft of the headers. The car still has the original owners manual, Traffic warning triangle and jack in its case. Some paint is missing and there is some "orange peel" going on at the right rear of the hardtop. The paint condition is what you would expect from a car that is 35 years old.
The motor is an in-line 6 cylinder. Again, this is a 5-speed manual transmission. Only the european model came with this transmission. The 380 sl built for the US came with an automatic 4-speed. The 380 had a production run of 53,200 from 1980-85, of which 11,115 were built in 1984. The 280 production ran from 1974-85 with 25,436 built. 3,529 280 were made in 1984. I have not found it difficult to get parts for this car as the body style is the same between the 280/380.
So, here is a great car that had a much more limited production run. If you want to get into an "old school" convertible two-seater with a manual 5-speed transmission here is your car.
