Vehicle Description
It is offered as a project / parts van that rolls, steers, brakes, and with an air-cooled engine that turns over easily. It has a manual 4 speed transmission. The clutch is non-operational.
This Westfalia camper will be sold as is, where is, without warranty or title documents.
A bill of sale and a copy of a current AutoCheck report will be provided.
The body is in fair condition with trivial seam and surface rust (shown in the pictures with gray primers). There is a failed bondo dent repair between the two front end turn signal lamps.
There is some trivial rust through on the middle panel, on the driver's side, where the utility box cut outs leaked through. There are some small rust spots at the lower gasket line of a few of the side windows. There is surface rust on the underneath chassis, etc.
The engine turns over smoothly, with the starter engaged, and without any troubling sounds or vibrations.
The pop top opens and closes easily. The canvas and screens are old, but still serviceable (a new canvas can be purchased starting at $250+/-). The roof top bedding is present and included in the offer.
The interior furniture, appliances, cabinets, seating and bedding have been completely removed, and the doors, walls and ceiling stripped down to the sheet metal. None of these articles are included in this sale.
However, the two very desirable front rotating seats ARE included, as is the factory original propane tank mounted under the chassis.
If you pay the FULL asking price, and you would like to have them, I have a full width, folding bench seat from a 1990 Vanagon Carat. Used along with the included full width engine compartment mattress segment with the bench seat folded flat, you will have a full width bed.
The starter currently in the van is fully operational, however I also have a spare, NOS Bosch starter motor, in its original packaging, for sale. If you want it, make me a reasonable offer.
